The drama started off amazing but the romance between them just doesn't work for me.. I love Gong Yoo and…
would seeing a 900 years old creature played by a younger actor made you more comfortable? 5 years this or that way is like a sneeze for him anyway.
I find it amusing how the writter is aware of how can it be seen (sugar daddy scene).

i was hoping if anyone has watched if u can clearify a part for me i am confused. Why does he turn into a goblin…
Re: grim reaper and goblin's work and purpose, I don't think the latter has any. He's just a cursed being. His agenda is to find someone who can liberate him from his immortality (a bride) and finally die. As a superbeing, he technically can grant wishes or make miracles if he feels like it, but isn't obliged to anything. He shouldn't mingle with mortals and change their fates.
Goblin and grim reaper are just co-habitants. There is no work relationship between them.
From my limited research on korean folklore: while ghost are made from lingering human souls, goblins are created from inanimated things carring some burden. Here: a sword that was used to take many lives. So the goblin wouldn't be the general, but in fact his sword that came to life (at least some sort of life). But I don't really think that rule is being followed orthodoxically in this case. The general and his sword are connected, the sword represents his curse.

Song Shi Ho is so incredibly annoying. Seriously... Give up, girl! No one likes a clingy ex!
right? Girl, he doesn't care. We don't care. Nobody cares. Shake it off.
Is almost 2017, can we move on with this type of character? I'm so done with them. Do people enjoy watching them, are they entertaining to hate? (relatable perhaps??) Wannabe girlfriend in Legend of the Blue Sea, fligh attendant hoobae in Sweet Stranger, that obnoxious ex-girlfriend in Cinderella and 4 Knights, her - I keep asking myself why are they even characters.

Those epilogues are just too darn cute.
I'm feeling like a dummy for not finding them until ep 5. Were they always there? I always paused when the actors freezed before.

japan is like to ep 8b we're still ep 3 tho
boxasian.com has all 8, but it's only subbed up to ep 3. You can download subs separately if you like downloading things.

I can't believe I actually put up with all those text overlays cluttering the screen on kissasian for 40+ eps.

Watched the first episode. Jeez. It is not bad, but sure as hell not in one league with Nirvana in Fire. Too much…
Yeah, comparisons with Nirvana in Fire and Empress Ki brought me here, I watched the first ep and still don't get what the fuss is about. To this day I can't find willpower to even fastforward this till something interesting happens. But everyone here is so hyped or defensive. Each to his own, I guess.
Agree on makeup, it's really noticeable, but I believe it's more to do with lighting and all that soft-focus filters (or lack of thereof).

Kdramas are not known for their realism but where have you seen a female weightlifter that looks like Lee Sung…
plus, part of the plot is her losing weight (healthily, but still). It's so much hassle - cast a model-like actress, adjust the plot so she struggles with low self-esteem due to being tall (and physically strong), then slim her down. But we finally get Lee Sung Kyung not being a maniac, so no one really cares (at least I don't).
I actually wonder how realistic it is, because I know nothing of weightlifting. I doubt weighlifters just eat piles of junk food. I know for sure that gymnasts don't run on lettuce. They do have stricter body standards and eating disorders aren't uncommon, but similar to ballet, it's a heavy, full-time training and requires lots of energy. Those tiny bodies, it's all muscles. It always bothers me when they show nearly starving gymnasts and ballerinas in the movies. They wouldn't last a week.
But hey, no one mentioned that we were saved from obligatory kdrama trope in ep 1! (or was it 2?) When Bok Joo fell into water, she didn't sink like a stone within three seconds. That's some accomplishment.

What is with SBS cutting scenes out of dramas and then releasing them afterwards?! Apparently important scenes…
not again, I'm still angry at ML. Will they ever learn.

Is this similar to Cheese in the Trap?
No, not really. The plot is painfully generic, but the leads are cute. I think CITT had more serious take on shadows of college life (freeloaders, stalkers and copycats) while this one just plays in a safe ground of skinny girls and random jerks being mean to tomboy-ish weightlifters.

Title Empress Ki
I am trying to understand why ppl say it's awesome and give it 10 stars... but i can't
You have to be a little more specific if you expect an answer. What do you dislike? I see you got pretty far.
I always suspect people are giving 10s left and right because they A. want to validate time spent on watching something, B. generally like kdramas, C. rate for the actors they like, not the quality of the show. Using 7-10 scale is pretty common.

I just wanna know who the fuck is the writer... The story was stupid and had so many flaws! I really had big expectations…
as a huge Sherlock fan, I have to say this floating text thing isn't terribly original anyway. Neither is Moffat's other work. When you look at his episodes of Doctor Who, they generally spin around widely recognized, Stephen King-like kinks. They are instantly recognizable, memorable and scary AF, but don't invent new things, just keep playing with well known themes. So to call it a plagiarism, especially when referring to the story doesn't fit here.
Frankly, there isn't enough story for plot holes. He wanted to con her, but she's cute. Bah. I appreciate they aren't taking Little Mermaid route, but for now it's a little, well, shapeless? Like we aren't even sure whether she is the same mermaid from Joseon times and what happened then etc. There are no set world rules (the way she just conveniently grew legs or didn't revert back on rain, she keeps a bracelet, but doesn't care about it etc).

It's been a month since I dloaded the first couple of episodes, still not finished second episode. I really…
I swear it gets better. I myself barely went through first 4 eps or so and was about to drop it, but later it bacame one of my favourites. It takes some time to adjust to this format and episodes are longer than usual, but around 1/3 it takes some shape, the pacing evens out and relations between characters keep you waiting for next episodes.

is this cast for real ?!!!! OMG please tell me it is
I'm wondering the same. It's like 1st lead-worthy actors only, those plotless dreams we are dream. At this point it's hard to imagine any of them as anything other than either 1st lead or a cameo.
