I have watched all versions and The Taiwanese version It Started with a Kiss is my favorite, and that is just his personality, but in Fated the guy in the Taiwanese version just seems like a jerk who can't make up his mind and there is also too much other drama in the Taiwanese version, like the other girl is much worse and the other guy causes more problems too. The characters in the Korean version are a lot less annoying.

Coffee Prince is the best gender bender drama imo she really pulled off acting like a guy. It actually had believable kiss scenes too, which is rare in Kdrama's.

I have been avoiding this version because of the Taiwanese version, the kiss/heated scenes in the Taiwanese version was great but the story and his attitude overall was awful and I just did not like angst or how everything happened in general. So I am wondering the same thing as you.
Update, decided to try it out, it is the same story but they change quite a few things that makes it much better than the Taiwanese, though I sort of skipped through some parts as it is the same story, the characters are not as cruel and has a better overall feel. Still a frustrating story though.

heh I rarely comment but your comment made me laugh. I have watched all versions of HYD, though I have a hard time recalling the Japanese one. Meteor Shower (Taiwanese version) is the best for season 1 but sadly in season 2 they change the whole story and it is horrible. This version BOF, yeah it is hard to set through. What really gets me though is no matter what version I watch, I am never happy that she chooses the lead guy, always wish she would choose the other. I think the anime was the only version that did not make me feel that way. So I would go with the anime (the anime is really old though). I am very skeptical of recommendations and ratings as well.

They left out a lot about the relationship which was a shame but I liked the ending because it was what I hoped would of happened in the manga story. I guess they wanted to tone it down, I find Asian movies and drama's are conservative and that is a good thing really. I know the original story so I know what they left out and what they changed and though I would have liked to see them show more of how their relationship developed, I am glad they gave me an ending I had wanted to see so mixed feelings.

I noticed quite a lot of people not getting the ending of this, glad to see I was not the only one that got it, though kudos I did not really connect her staring at the drawing on his navel as pointing to who the father was but I did realize they all 3 ended up together, though I don't agree these affairs, it was nice to see decent kiss scenes for a change, really like Ju Ji-hoon

My favorite version and my favorite drama, oh how I would love it if more drama's had believable kiss/romance scenes like this one. I have seen the anime and all the drama versions except the older Japanese one and they don't compare to this one.

Did not care for this version too much, I like the Taiwanese one the best, it has believable kiss scenes, wish more drama's did.
