Well, I don't know. That's just my opinion but to me, the "overcoming gender thing" isn't that important. If it was the main topic, Piano wouldn't need to be a girl, a gay love story would be enough and far more significant. Zifeng is heterosexual and was the only one to subconsciously fell Piano feminity. To imagine making love with someone of the same sex when you're hetero is quite weird. So, when he learnt the truth, it erased his hang-up.

I felt the same at first but not anymore. If her true identity was discovered, he too would probably be put to death. Going with him would mean ending his career but he is too good a painter to not work for the king. The king needs him. What's more, he may get hurt because of her. Hence, she choose to disappear. It's a sad ending but a meaningful one. It just couldn't be any different. Well, keep in mind that the real Hyewon and Danwon didn't get married since Hyewon actually was a man in real life... That's the hard truth of period dramas ;)

Actually, Painter of the wind (2008) is older than Goddess of Fire (2013) so it's the other way around. Goddess of Fire is very similar to Painter of the Wind. But I get your point since you saw them in reverse order.

Same here. And I rewatched after episode 10 : After he found out, Zifeng changed his behaviour towards Piano. He doesn't care anymore to be seen in public with him, which wasn't the case before.

If you like gender-bender romantic comedies, yes. And if you liked the manga HanaKimi (although this is not an adaptation), you'll like it even more ^^

You will soon understand why... Sorry to tell you that - really sorry - but you're wasting your time watching this drama. And this comes from someone who really liked it at first. There is just no end. I'm not talking about a rushed ending but an unfinished ending...

I actually think it's very different from BOF. The summary is similar but that's only the starting point. This one is sweet and funny right from the start. Ming Xiao Xi does get in trouble with the Elite Union but we can see right away that Mu Liu Bing has a crush on her. The only evil character is Tie Sha Xing and that's out of jealousy, not really because XiaoXi is poor.

I usually don't like medical dramas but this one's rating seems to be good and it says there is action and romance too. So, if it's more about action and romance than medicine, I might give it a try. Can you help me decide please ?

Ok, I was checking the synopsis of this drama and started looking at the comment section. AND I just got VERY angry after reading your comment. Should I say all men are liars and only ever think with their dick ? Or worse, that they're all potential rapist ?What's with this generalization ? If you yourself think you're not one of those, do accept that all women are not "whores" or like hitting men. Actually, quite the majority despise that too. If you ever encountered such ill woman, sorry for you but that's no reason to insult others. With that kind of thinking, if you ever met your ideal woman, she won't even give you a chance. As I'm writting, I'm starting to calm down a bit. Let me tell you something, when I was 15, I litterally though "all men are wolves". But as I grew up, I understood how stupid and arrogant that was. After all, my own father wasn't like that and some childhood friends neither. Plus, if I considered male stereotypes to be true, I should have also accepted female ones, among which those you mentioned. But you see, I'm not like that and my friends are not either. I only one or twice encountered such women so I'm not saying they don't exist but, please, just learn how to recognise and avoid them and stop insulting others.
