I'm loving everything but slightly disturbed by the surgery scenes. Did anybody else feel that the intestines in episode 2 looked like sausages? I didn't know whether to laugh or be grossed out!
I wanted to give Joo Won a chance to redeem himself after the last bad choice he made, and this drama totally seems to be right for him!! I am so glad. Loved everything about this first episode! <333
A lot of people might disagree with me here, and don't get me wrong, I love the show as much as anyone, but this episode just felt a bit too filler for me. Sooo many scenes were repeated and flashbacked!
I was left screaming at the screen "get to the story already". It took 27 minutes to get to where we left off last week... isn't that a bit much? Sure it was nice to see some of the filler parts, but they weren't entirely necessary. Be honest. Didn't you already know that MJG used Soo Ha's phone to lure the girl in? Yes we got to see exactly how word-for-word but the idea was already clear.
The last half of the episode was pretty good, but if you sum up plot-wise what actually happened, they met on the roof, they fell off, MJG didn't die (Damn him!!) and they're in the hospital. THAT'S IT. Twenty minutes could have covered it.
I was wishing for a lot more cute....sigh... extensions
Like the majority of you, I was crossing fingers and praying and hoping for a happy ending all along, but you know what? Once I saw episode 20 I decided this was better. Paksa had gone so far off the deep end I don't think he could have ever just lived as an ordinary cop in a normal happy relationship. That image and Paksa just don't go together! I think with his death it sort of made him become a legend. And the debate about whether he really died or not doesn't concern me ... that's all part of the mystique!
What drew me to this drama in the first place was this awesome mindblowing character with his indescribable aura. And now he will stay like that forever <3
Also, the scene where Soo Min sees the child versions of Paksa and Kyung Mi waving and cheering her on I found very poignant. They will always stay in her memories as well.
Has anyone figured out how Soo Ha's father could be a villain? From what I can gather, he was a reporter who just happened to write about a hospital with 100% guaranteed heart surgery success. So MJG took his wife there and apparently the 100% success rate was proven wrong (but honestly, nobody can believe that there is 100% certainty in anything) .... so just because he wrote the article, he felt he was responsible for her death??!
Please, show, let there be more to it than that. How can you hold a reporter accountable for something that looked like an obvious ad?
Really loved these last two episodes, especially all the touching scenes involving Do Yeon. Gotta hand it to the writer, this is the first time an extension hasn't pissed me off.
I downloaded the first episode as a torrent and watched it with my limited Japanese skills, but I'd rather have the subs. Does anyone know if it's being subbed and where I could get them?
Loved the beautiful friendship between them but more importantly how each character grows because of it. This drama has so many sweet, funny and nostalgic (for those of us long out of high school) moments that I didn't mind at all the lack of romance. Romance wasn't a focus of this story and it wasn't meant to be, so honestly I can say I loved the ending and wasn't disappointed at all.
Whoa! Can't believe there's already 700 comments for this drama ... and it's not airing for another three months. Guess I'm not the only one anticipating it
So I watched the first episode and totally loved the intro. I really got invested in the princess' story. But then I noticed the long and frequent close up shots and thought to myself, ok there's something up with the directing here. Then the rock music comes in and I'm shocked.
Right now I'm really on the fence about this drama.
While visual awesomeness worked great in That Winter the Wind Blows and didn't distract from the story, here I feel it gets on my nerves...but I also like the story and am kind of curious to try something so very different. What to do?
I was very excited to this drama as I enjoy pre-Joseon settings. Poster and trailer looked interesting, but Ep…
To spare you the trouble, I can tell you already that this drama has this whole artsy/modern spin to it, and that's not going to change. So if you don't like the music etc, it won't get any better
Out of all the drama tropes out there, the one that I absolutely HATE is amnesia, because generally it's just a poor plot device used when the writer has run out of ideas but wants to drag the story on (I'm looking at you, Boys Over Flowers mangaka)... but here, strangely, I didn't mind it at all!
I'm completely glued to the screen and desperate to discover exactly what happened a year ago.
Another big sigh goes out to the Korean police: if the first thought that came to mind when I saw the hand in the water was: "where's the rest of the body?" why did nobody else seem to care?! I mean they must have searched that water pretty thoroughly....so no one thought it was suspicious they never found the body?
Also, if you look closely at Soo Ha's little flashback scenes (a good sign, meaning the amnesia won't last), MJK's pained expression tells me he's cutting his hand off here.
So I've always been on Soo Ha's ship since episode 1 (squeee at his adorableness - sorry, fangirl moment - and the beyond epic childhood connection our OTP have), but now I'm glad that whoever was on Kwan Woo's side is most definitely going to switch after episode 8!!!
He just did what we all knew he would do, given his character, but that's just why he was never right for her, people!!!
What an agonizing cliffhanger for episode 8!!! Of course I know he's going to survive but I need to see that now!! OMG how am I going to survive until next week?! And the preview *squeal* can't wait!
