Title The Wonder Coach Spoiler
Can somebody tell me if the wonder dogs became 8th professional team?I mean thats the whole purpose of the show,…
If I’m not mistaken, it was already emphasized in the early episodes that there needs to be a “sponsor.” If there’s a company willing to sponsor their club, then it would be possible as long as the other seven clubs also approve it.

Realistically, though, it’s tough to find a company willing to sponsor them because operating a volleyball team in Korea requires a huge amount of money (The salaries of Korean players are very high, there are even world-class players who earn less than some Korean players). There’s actually a city in Korea that has already agreed to let their gymnasium be the Wonder Dogs’ home base, but finding a company willing to support them financially is the challenging part.

Maybe that’s why the ending was left open-ended, because it could lead either to them becoming the 8th team or to a second season.

But as for the current season, Korea VLeague still has only seven teams, and the Wonder Dogs players have returned to their respective corporate clubs. (But they’re not disbanded. if a sponsor is willing to support them, it’s definitely possible for them to become the 8th team.)

Ah, I can’t believe next week is already the final episode. I really hope there will be a season 2. I’ve gotten so attached to the Wonder Dogs players T_T

Their behind the scene moments are also so much fun, but it’s frustrating that there are no English subtitles, uhuhu. I really want to understand their conversations.

I hope they can bring home lots of awards at the MBC Entertainment Awards later <3

I love that they understand she gets mad at them because she wants them to improve even when they score it's so…
Almost all of the players are actually still part of their corporate teams. When they say the players were “released,” it means they were released from their professional teams. Corporate teams are more like amateur-league teams, and their level is far below pro teams.

Those three players happen to be from the Suwon City Hall club, and they were called up to participate in the East Asian Volleyball Championship.

The reason Suwon City Hall represented Korea is because at that time, Korea was still one of the countries allowed to participate in the VNL. So for regional Asian competitions like this, winning or losing wouldn’t affect their FIVB world ranking points. Because of that, they didn’t send their actual national team or any pro team.
