transitioning for revenge aside (maybe there really is more to the story than shown in the trailer), it really doesn't sit well with me how gmmtv has actual out and proud trans actresses but insists on keeping them in background roles only, often like a comedic relief. then they decide to do a story with trans main character and who do they give this role to? a cis woman in a profitable cp, of course. missed opportunity imo

yeah, it is just bizarre to me how the show portrays their affair. there's almost nothing sexual about it even - they're kissing giddily like teens while eating a persimmon, then they dance cutely, and i'm just sitting there like?????? hello?????? what is up with this tone of their scenes. if they're trying to go for "the warden is a grey character" then it is sure as hell isn't working, because him being sweet with dao does nothing for me. i do too hope the son does something, he seems like a decent person
