Moonlight Chicken Episode 8

I liked this one. I watched the first half alone then the rest with my mom and I will say it's much more enjoyable when you get to yell about what's going on with someone. First off I think the highlight of this series is Heart and Li Ming. Holy christ they were the best couple and the best characters individually. It's crazy to me how they communicated so much better than every single adult relationship in the show. They were also very good as separate characters. Li Ming might be brash sometimes but for me I could always understand where he was coming from. I can only imagine how annoying it would be to try and figure yourself out while also dealing with Jim. Heart is also a pretty good character. To me he's not as fleshed out which makes sense, but he was still a good understandable character. Now when we get to the adults... that's where the mess comes up. First, Jim, there's a lot to say about Jim. The more I got into the series the more I understood him. Like I fully understand how all of the events we are shown in the series affect his opinions when it comes to relationships, work life, and how he parents Li Ming. Just cause I understand it though doesn't mean I have to like it though lol. I don't know I understood him and couldn't really stay truly mad at him but my lord, I did get tired with him a lot. Just from my perspective I feel like he should be single, or should have at least worked on himself a bit more. Next, Wen, I can't really form an opinion on Wen. I see myself in a bit of him as a fellow old man liker who would fall for a repressed older man. But my god the lengths he goes to for Jim. I also think that he was a bit too willy nilly when it came to putting boundaries up with Alan. It was kind of like he expects things to happen for him without him actually having to do anything. Overall he's just kind of needy and meh but can give pretty good advice from time to time. Now, Alan, that man is a fucking demon. Holy shit I thought he was there for most of the series but I realized he wasn't really after watching his introduction for the second time. Almost every second of Alan's screentime was torture. He was so crazy and seemed like he could've committed legitimate harm for most of the series. Finally, Gaipa, I really liked Gaipa. For most of the series they basically just tortured him. It was seriously crazy the shit they put him through. Other than that and even through that he was a likable character. The other characters like Leng, Praew, Gong, and Ms.Hong were all very likable. I also liked how throughout the series true lgbtq issues were touched upon. I'm not sure if the writer of this show is gay but I would absolutely not be surprised if they were. Issues such as lgbtq marriage and how non married lgbtq people face very difficult issues, people thinking being gay will somehow rub off on other family members, deaf issues, ect were all touched on in a very likable manner for me.Overall this series was pretty good and I really enjoy that they touched on serious issues that lgbtq people face, I wish more BL's covered topics like this
