It was enjoyable. But for me it was at its best around the mid point of the story. It gets better after a couple of episodes but I found the last couple of episodes and the ending disappointing. The characters were more interesting when they were more flawed but later they become too perfect. I can also never fully get onboard with a romance centered drama where every character seems to be gay/bi but zero intimacy is shown. Are these people just AI? there's never any romantic physical interaction. They don't seem to behave like actual humans. It's very sweet but in a way that doesn't feel like romance at all. I guess its a great drama for people who want completely good, innocent and pure characters.
This drama is my all time favorite JBL and will probably forever remain my favorite. I think don't any other drama can come close any time soon. Both leads and quite unique characters and it's very interesting to watch their growth and how they work through their issues. I see a lot of people calling this relationship between the leads, toxic. But I don't think there's anything toxic at all here. Just flawed characters trying to learn to love other. While also healing from past trauma. Neither one is ever malicious toward the other. It's just not your typical cute, simple bl. Very enjoyable if you aren't judgmental of characters who aren't your usual bl kind of characters. It's very beautifully shot. I was also impressed to learn this is Yagi Yusei's first main role. He is on the level of much more experienced actor, he was perfect in this role. Hagiwara Riku was no less impressive as Hira, he really dove into the role. Their chemistry was flawless.
Aside from a couple of small issues here and there, this is a true masterpiece.
Everything about this drama was incredibly beautiful. If you can accept that it doesn't have a proper ending (it being prequel story) then I don't any reason anyone wouldn't love this.
Cute but so easily forgettable. Good to pass the time if you just really love watching any BL. I really can't understand why Ryota cannot tell him he likes him too. What was supposed to be the reason? Your ultimate crush has already confessed to you and you cannot say that you also like him? There doesn't even seem to be any special reason for it. Sorry but at that point you don't even deserve him, that's the easiest confession of all time.
Good drama, I found it to be very enjoyable. Only 2 things I disliked about it were the ending and the removal of the romantic aspect between the male lead and his friend. I can't understand how the ending makes any sense. The whole drama was about improving the ml's life so that he would want to live again. Then at the end he dies anyway. I feel like it would've been a much better ending for the kid to get his life back and be able to regain his relationship with his friend. Keep the gangster guy alive in the kid's body really didn't make me feel anything, it killed what would've been a very emotional finale.
