I can't believe that at some point I shouted "that is enough honey!!"

i was so stressed about the carpet. mine is similar and i think i would go insane if that amount of honey ever ended up on mine

Is he somehow related to Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra, the former prime ministers?

i read somewhere that family names in thailand must be unique so if his family name is shinawatra, he probably is related
