Disgusted by the lack of respect for artists
Disclaimer: I have absolutely no intention of watching this drama. I only clicked on one episode because this platform requires it in order to submit a review. If I could give negative rating, this drama would be it.A drama cannot be good if it completely devalues its own cast. The use of AI face-swapping in Pursuit of Jade is highly unethical, exploitative, and dishonourable. It erases the genuine effort, emotion, and dedication an actor pours into their character. Furthermore, by stripping away an artist's dignity and honour and showing zero respect for the craft, the creators have failed to uphold basic ethical standards.
By abandoning these foundational virtues, this show completely undermines traditional Chinese honour and integrity, making this standard of production a disgrace to humanity.
Using technology to overwrite a human performance is a dangerous trend that shows zero respect for creative consent or the audience. I am totally disgusted by how this situation was handled. I am boycotting this show completely to stand with He Chang Xi.
