I like this one because they learn to talk with each other, keep no secrets, lean on each other, support each other and help each other pursue their dreams.
Cute and fluffy, don't bring your brain to this one, just sit back and enjoy. That said my only problem with this is what he expects as a reward; thankfully he is not too pushy about it.

The sunbaes (In Rang & Cheon Sang) are my favourite part of this drama. Watched this drama after Vincenzo to change how my emotions see Ok Taek Yeon. Not my favourite drama, had some good points (eg. let go of hatred - that stuff is nasty and will change you for the worst; to hate is not worth the energy it takes to hold onto it). It was good to see Kim So Hyun again as well.
Spoiler requested. Would somebody please explain the conversation between the Fake Monk and Bong Pal at the end of ep. 15, beginning of ep. 16 where they were talking about Bong Pal's Mum making a second weapon because the first one broke. I seriously don't get this story. When Bong Pal was 5, Mum was pushed to her death by the evil ghost because it had been driven from Bong Pal. The weapon used was broken so she had another made just-in-case. That bit makes sense, it was the whole Mum was pregnant with Bong Pal who had her spirit/gift and BP was supposed to be possessed but she rejected it for a normal life for BP yet the weapon she made was after he was born? I am so lost.
Yep! The characters are what bored me, no hatred to the actors at all I just don't prefer to watch their dramas.…
That is why variety is good. Not everything suits everyone and like you there are just some actors who themselves or their characters just don't click. BTW, no judgement here and I appreciate the lack of nastiness on your part (I didn't get that at all from your writing, fyi). No point being nasty just because you don't click.
I have seen 1 and 3. Dropped 4 & 5 for whatever reason (prob same reasons as the writer of this article though I'm not sure I got as far through). I quite like the lead actors of Heirs and although I don't fully appreciate some of the roles they play, it is the characters, not the actors I don't particularly like.
I find truly annoying the characters that either don't mature or they start out really strong then end up as wet mops waiting to be rescued. And parents, some opposition is natural (hopefully they simply want what is best, not be money hungry, social standing worriers), but all out war is just grr.
I’m so confused- it says 68 episodes but Netflix has 24?
I think, like me, you believed when Netflix said 2015 when it is actually the 2017 Special Cut. The spoiler below will give you more info on how the two are different if you are interested.
I think the non-Chinese actors are speaking with Chinese style speech patterns. If you listen, a lot of the Chinese…
I understand :) . I have been thinking about it for a while so it just came out. I still cringe (and thus fast forward) when I see the 'Americans' come on screen.
k i love it and hate it at the same time the beginning to the middle was good but from the middle to the end was…
I think the non-Chinese actors are speaking with Chinese style speech patterns. If you listen, a lot of the Chinese sentences have pauses in them, you get the first half of the sentence, pause for a beat or two then the rest of the sentence is spoken.
Also, I think because Chinese (I think it is Mandarin, but this is true for the other Asian languages) has a different sentence structure to English their word emphasis is different and how they express emotion is different. If you look at English, our questions often end with a raised tone at the end of the sentence, French sounds a lot more monotone (I got in trouble in French class by being too expressive when reading out loud), Italian sounds like it has emotion all over the place and so on with other cultures and languages. I think in this drama the English speakers are using Mandarin (?) style sentence expression. To our ears it sounds horrible (yep, find it REALLY uncomfortable to listen to) but to those whose first language is Mandarin (?) then it would sound normal. I am guessing this drama's initial target audience is Mandarin speakers not westerners.
Yep, I am not sure of the westerners' acting ability either, mostly because of the speech patterns. Have you noticed in other dramas (oft times kdramas) the American will have a non U.S accent? I am sure I even heard an Australian accent once. I know I have heard German and UK accents.
Just re-watched bits of it; the doc in the last few episodes is actually the most natural one of them.
Up to episode 25. Whatever you do AVOID binge watching this. It is 3:10 am and the only reason I am persisting is partly with the help of the fast forward button and a desire to know when her second month FINALLY ends and/or when she FINALLY returns to her time and when the ML & FL FINALLY start communicating properly. If you binge watch it, this show gets really, very annoying. I am thinking this was made to watch two nights a week over 6 months so you would have some downtime between a constant barrage of greedy, manipulative, power hungry people who use and abuse others.
Yes I am very tired and high on sugar (thus really, very cranky) but I am so sick of shows where a lot of problems could have been avoided if the couple just sat down and talk honestly with each other. Okay, doesn't make for dramatic tv but it would show people a better way to act and they could have the couple against the world instead of one person presuming upon the other for the sake of 'love'.
Ok, stopping now.
I made it to 3/4 of the way through episode 29 and couldn't take it anymore. Stopped, skipped to Ep. 55 saw they were still wrangling so I skipped to 56 then jumped to the end. Disappointing.
So cute!!!! I love the Xiaobu!!! I just clicked on Bie Thassapak Hsu to see what else he is in and THERE IS A my girlfriend is an alien 2 SET FOR NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope it is as good as this one!

I rarely like ones where, even if it is appropriate, one of them dies in the end or they go their separate ways.
