skipped episodes 8-20 and then 22-28. Now I'm on ep 65. This show is insane. Why can't I look away though?
I watched the like 13 episodes of the Chinese version with English subs. I was so interested I watched the remaining episodes without the subs. I think I will try the Korean version. I have found myself skipping episodes or starting in the middle of some dramas, especially if they are super long!! I found the Chinese FL too nice. It almost made you hate her because no one can be that much of a doormat.
I felt this in my soul...I cant deal with the emperor..He tells Ruyi he loves her and then glances at another…
There is also Queen Dugu. It is based on a real emperor and empress and how they committed to only be with one another then.... I have watched bits and pieces of Goodbye Princess. My frustration is the sad endings for the women. I know the Emperor in Ruyi was horrible, but what I have gleaned from watching several of these type dramas is that there were constraints on the ruler. His character says as much in the episode of Ruyi when she visits him before going to the Cold Palace (prison). He said he had more freedom as the prince than he does as Emperor. Life for women was hell back then.
Yeah, the original story was written in the 90s I think. This version in 2010. Most of us are watching it in the…
I felt the ML had too mny anger issues. Plus KHJ was the second lead and he's my cougarcrush ?? I think the FL would have been happy with either guy. It ws some quote from BOF about having a soulmate and a true love or something. It was great, but I can't remember it exactly.
"marital bed"?u mean they had a scene on the bed?what episode?i think i missed that
It was when the skanky cousin came to the house to apologize after everything came put. The wife broke the little robot the husband had put in their bedroom and skanky cousin fell and bumped her head and he rushes to her. The wife left for some reason and skanky cousin cried in hubby's arms and then they fell on the bed. Later, the SIL and BIL came over and they all saw the messed up bed and knew whatvhad happened. Can't remember which episode exactly.
My issue with the FL. She had no problems constantly giving her students chances and forgiving them, like when Wang's actions caused her to fall, sprain her ankle, and cut her hand. However she cannot forgive HJ for an accident he had that injured her dad and ended his career. Her dad forgave him. I am a high school teacher and some of what she did was way out of line.
The ending was super bad. Needs a of explanations bc she got hit by a car and went flying but wasn’t bleeding…
I always wondered how that car cane speeding up out of nowhere. No cars on that bridge the entire time, then suddenly BAM! Also, whybdid they show her fingers closing on the petal? I thought the car was the other girl that liked him.
Started this as really like Jung So Min in her recent dramas and she is really good here.Cant say the same about…
Yeah, the original story was written in the 90s I think. This version in 2010. Most of us are watching it in the post "me too" movement era. This story is not a good look for male/female roles. However as an ELA teacher, I delve deeper into the characters.
One thing that frustrates me across the board in various Asian dramas/stories is how they are comfortable making sexual innuendos, promote living together before marriage/moving in with famliy, even pregnancy before marriage, but are too conservative to show a realistic kiss/hug and often make the FL so overbearingly innocent/naive. I mean it's the 21st century and that scream from seeing him in his underwear was ridiculous. I am from the US so this is probably a cultural thing, but it kinda frustrates me.
I totally agree with your review. I was angry with the ending. So much happened to her unnecessarily. I am learning that Taiwanese dramas seem to drag storylines and contain a lot of EXTRA stuff that is mot needed.
I really hated how the best friend is forgiven so easily AND gets the happy ending. While I enjoyed their love story, I hated thst they both died in the end. H*ll it's supposed to be a romance. Really disappointed in the ending. Loved their main couple's chemistry though. It had a bit too much drama.
Anybody else see what was happening in the background of Netflix episode 22 about 35 minutes in? I promise you it looks like someone in the background on their hands and knees getting their hair pulled. It's the scene when Rui Fan stoos Wei An from leaving. The husband is an *ss. He has no remorse. Wei An claims An Zhen wears a mask because she slapped the fire out of her. What did she expect her to do, gracefully bow out? They cheated in the marital bed!! I cannot get with this advice of wait for him. I get forgive so she can have some peace, but all this acquiesce and he is not giving a care... H to the no!! It is a good show though.
If you watch the other versions, you won't be ledt with unresolved questions. It is ironic that you felt this way even though you haven't seen the Taiwanese original or any of the other remakes from Korea and Thailand.
I am watching it, but the Chinese sure know how to write a pitathetic (pitiful and pathetic) female lead. She has cried in every episode I've watched so far. I'm on ep 6.
The grandmother is a straight up b*tch. She keeps suspecting Wu Tong of scheming because that's how she operates. I hate how they think snatching a 4 yo or any kid from their loving mother to give to their father just because he's rich is the right thing to do. Look how messed up the rich people are. Also why didn't her side get a chance to rebut or explain the pictures?
People keep saying she is wrong for not telling him. What was she supposed to do when he told her to forget that night and threw a blank check at her?
i finally find it! i watch these some weeks ago, since then i been looking for it and i finally find it so far…
How does she get her back? I have seen so many clips in my YouTube timeline, I just want to know if that woman who married her ex got any karma. Also, how did they end up divorced? I saw the clip where she miscarried.
Can you tell me why did the broke up 7 years ago,I mean what was the the reason for the FL to disappear.
Why in the world would you confess to your sister's boyfriend? Why didn't she tell him the truth 7 years ago? Why didn't the sister tell him the truth?
I found the Chinese FL too nice. It almost made you hate her because no one can be that much of a doormat.
