Just wanna add up my opinion here because this is my favorite novel, and both Li Yitong, Cheng Yi are my fav actors.
1. I’ve seen the FMV in which Li Yunrui and Li Yitong acted as Deng Ying and Yang Wan. Li Yunrui seems like the perfect Deng Ying but he’s new and his acting is not convinced enough to play Deng Ying, whom rarely talks and shows most of his emotion through his eyes and gestures.
2. At first, I was against Cheng Yi playing Deng Ying because he doesn’t have that feeling when I read about Deng Ying. But his acting convinced me. I think he’s the only actor who can pull on Deng Ying. But there are rumors that Deng Ying will no longer be an eunuch in the drama due to the restriction and for the sake of the actor’s image which really disappointed me and it will completely change Deng Ying’s character development.
3. Li Yitong is the spitting image of Yang Wan. If you’ve watch Royal Nirvana in which she played Lu Wenxi and read the book yourself, you couldn’t imagine any other actress playing Yang Wan.
4. If the rumors are true, this is the third time Cheng Yi and Li Yitong pair up in another drama. This is quite rare, and idk if the fans and producer like this or not, I really hope they will be starring in Crane Notes together 🫶🏻🫶🏻

if that’s the case, i’m happy for them. i’m just saying from my pov after watching that first shooting day video. most ppl said li hongyi deserved a better female lead, which i felt a little bit upset for lamu yangzi; therefore, i decided to speak up for her. there’s no hate towards the two actors. hope the drama is doing great job!!
