i adore it. stunning cinematography, beautiful and well done sound design, relatable character’s personalites and their vibes is great. although its very short but series shows 1ML emotions and thoughts are deeply and relatable.
idk why but these mini series gave me - Japaneese BLs high school-friends became lovers (slowburn) vibes. also love the timeline of 00’s-10’s. my comfort type of setting and thrope.
yeah, you guessed right. im ace sex repulsed. but im on the same page with you about “I don't mind sex scenes if they aren't very explicit. I appreciate a beautiful, hot passionate and sensual love scene.” and yeah, i know that thai bl just one big horny vibe, (considering that fact i rarely watch thai bl) even tho once in life time they drop bl “be my favourite” where the main character is heavy ace coded character, but everyone (his friends and viewers) hate him for not wanting physical intamicy with the main lead. imho - thai bl and viewers are not ready for MAIN (i know ab wandee good day) character aro/ace spectrum (accurate and not erasing) representation.
that's okay, don't worry. phew i thought that even for ace it sounded odd, bc i wanted specific info. btw i seen u completed this jbl drama. could u plz answer even on 1st question? wanna watch ENK so bad, but i can't start without knowing about this part.
lmao i asked that for future knowledge bc im asexual and i don't wanna be surprised with explicit random sex scene in this one, while it already looks not that "horny vibe".
Loved this mini j-drama. Although the detective lines are simple, but the storyline with Makki and his brother is very strong and heartbreaking. Last ep made me cry, laughed and melted from cuteness 5 times in the row. Makki & Keita complement each other well in investigations and communication with clients.
Cons➖: color grade is toned in shadows with hue green and dark blue although its not dat horrible than made in j-drama Gokushufudo.
Pros➕: storyline, chemistry between the male leads, the production, filming, editing [cuts of certain scenes add a lot of humor], the soundtrack and background music - fit the situations perfectly, characters and situations are funny [let’s appreciate role of a brilliant (voice) actor - Kenjiro Tsuda.] The acting is typical for j-dramas.
⚖️So this typical presentation of “overacting” may doesn’t work for some ppl (especially if u k-drama fan/u watch only mainstream netflix dramas).
And for those who, like me, adore such underrated dramas as: Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi (2013), Ribasu Ejji Ookawabata Tanteisha (2014), Coffee Ikaga Deshou (2021) - i can say with 80% confidence that ull enjoy watching it, and even 4 eps will not be enough for u.
PS: yep, i love j-dramas with the chosen family trope…
zhen xuan is that neurodivergent rep that gets stuck in your head for years
yeep, im glad that im not the only one who loves zhen xuan’s neurodivergent traits. and i was soo happy when it was actually said out loud (and the fact shou yi freerly say that he has affective disorder). also, love the fact that they showed that kinda troubles and difficulties that often goes along even in het couples (and we see these two - trying their best to understand and accept themselves and their feelings)
someone read the original manga? male lead is a-spec coded (maybe demi/aro/ace)? im really hope that they will reveal/hint (on) this topic in the new season
Mochizuki Seitaro was full of enthusiasm as a pyrotechnist, but, 1 year later (after season one finale), his enthusiasm for his work has gone away. He hardly goes out and he lives like a recluse. His fireworks store, that has been passed down for generations in his family, is still open, but in danger of going out of business. Meanwhile, Mizumori Hikari works part-time as a pyrotechnist at a different fireworks store. In the midst of all this, for the first time in a while - a quarrel breaks out between Wataru and Seitaro. Then, a mysterious woman, Fumiko Noguchi, suddenly visits the shop and not only ask to become Seitaro's apprentice, but also suddenly proposes to him. Seitaro, Hikari, Fumika, and Wataru will live under one roof.
