I think they can, if the artist has signed an unfair contract, afterall there tend to be lots of news of companies mistreating their artists.

But you know, sometimes money isn't all. Money would be a compensation indeed. But exposure could get them more sources of money.
Since you talked about MJTY, take example for tian jirui. He was a whole new person in this industry in sense of popularity. But just one drama got him so many roles good dramas. He also managed to clinch a place into lots of magazines, and endorsements.

I have a feeling that they can get season 2 of My Journey to you done, only if they remove the main leads (ysx and zlh) which I don't think is ever gonna happen. Cause the mainleads were pretty much disappointed with the results, especially zlh, who had to even apologise for his character. So, I see no hope . . .
Besides with how things are turning out, ig ysx doesn't seem the type who would do a season 2 in this drama. So instead of a season 2, I am hopping for a spin off season on wufeng. Cause all the mysteries were already solved in gong family pov. But wufeng's history, geography, civics, and economics, still hasn't seen the light.

That's true indeed, but wrong deeds of one person causes loss of the whole cast that worked so hard.
Many if the actors probably treat these dramas as their debuts, or maybe a new level to their career, yet their dreams are cut off due to wrong actions of the highly popular actors. That's sad.
Wish there could be some solution to it.

Ikr! Wow all the comments you post are so much what I wish to say. The annoying thing is, the drama production never officially announce that they are gonna shelve the drama, and that gives us viewers hope. They should just dash our hopes instead of keeping us waiting!!

But thecostume was good, and the plot also seems good. The cast involved are pretty much experienced with high level project, what about the efforts of other cast!

Ikr! 4-5 s+/a class and most anticipated dramas have been cancelled just because if the cast being involved in some or the other thing. Why the hell are their laws so strict. At this rate, the c-ent is gonna continue suffering loss for next few decades! So annoying!

Yeah, well tbh, korean law on actorsis too loose. I read about an actor who raped minor intentionally and was jailed for 12-14 years, but he actually came back to entertainment industry after his jail period and current is involved in many big production dramas.
So tbh, I am not a fan of both chinese and korean laws on actors. Both of them are too extreme.
