i don't think it matters more just because the drama is Chinese. we can all read the subtitles and make our own opinion about the script and directing. If you have complains it's your opinion, but we shouldn't be like: Wow Chinese citizens hate the drama so our ratings aren't fair.
i know qi min and qianqian have a sad ending (in the novel), but i couldn't help but ship them still 😭

Because they're staying true to the novel, which is slow burn, they can't speed up things. I guess this drama needs a new tag to clarify it. I absolutely hate when they rush everything, and I'm enjoying this town arc because their separation will be much stronger on the screen.
