I really had a fun time with it. It was the first K-drama that brought me back into the K-drama world after this yearâs drought season.
The script was actually good⌠they just rushed everything. It honestly couldâve been a 16-episode drama with proper time to uncover everything. I seriously donât know what the writers and producers smoke while deciding whether a drama should be 12 or 16 episodes đ
When a drama doesnât even need extra plot, they drag it to 16 episodes. But when the story actually needs deeper exploration, they mess it up and give us only 12
Overall, it was great, but there are still so many plot holes and unresolved questions. The real crime the production committed was reducing it to 12 episodes đđ
I heard the original script â the one that won the MBC Best Script award â was leaked, and apparently it had way more plot than what was finally shown in the drama. It couldâve easily maintained the pacing and properly developed the story from the beginning if they hadnât sabotaged the original script by forcing it into only 12 episodes đ
So honestly⌠shame on the production, not on the actors. The cast did their best with what they were given â And the fall of the monarchy⌠sorry to say, but it honestly felt like a wise decision I donât know why some people donât understand that itâs basically just a golden cage â where lives are mostly presented for appearances, dressing up, and maintaining an image đ
So in that sense, the fall of the monarchy actually felt meaningful and necessary in the story.

And the second couple honestly felt a bit forced⌠but Steve Noh gave one of his best performances đ
And Daebi Mama??? Give that woman the lead role in the next drama immediately đ Girl delivered more expressions than half the cast combined â fear, anger, resentment, anguish, betrayal⌠she nailed every emotion in this drama đâ¨
TBH, she deserved to be the second highest-paid cast member.
