Actually, the women who worked on the series did talk about this on twitter when it was airing, it is indeed a statement on how entitled men behave :). They tried to talk about social issues like the taking over of big stores and death of small shop, the struggles of single parents, the thing with louis, as well as the entitlement/ not respecting other people's spaces in public events like songkran ..etc. Noolek and Pong used to talk about the themes of the episode on twitter almost every week.
Of course it could be, as you said, Club Friday cliche but it is also a feminist statement :) things can have more than one meaning.
The director was a piece of shit but that shouldn't cloud over the hard-work of the rest of the crew.
