On another note, this drama was honestly a mess lmao I can't believe I stuck through it. The first few episodes had so much potential, but I think what made everything weird was how they tried to pass this drama as a comedy. I mean ??? they were stranded in an unknown island AND THEY WERE GETTING KILLED ONE BY ONE IT'S LIKE A CROSS OF LOST AND BATTLE ROYALE. Making every situation comedic just downplays the whole thing in my opinion.
I also feel like this would have been better if they focused more on the psychological effects of being stranded in an island (for example, Tae Ho was going on a killing spree bcos he has this "survival of the fittest" attitude thing idk) and if they didn't make Tae Ho the reason for every bad thing that happened in this drama ever. That, for me, is lazy screenwriting.
I'm gonna miss seeing Jung Kyung Ho every week, but THANK GOD THIS DRAMA IS OVER LMAO
Wait why did the rating go down for this drama omg i thought ep 5 was intense (in a good way)? Also, it's become clear that Bong Hee is an unreliable narrator, which is great bcos I don't think I've seen a kdrama use this kind of trope!
This is a bit long, but pls bear with me these are just my two cents:
I feel like the people who are calling this drama "overrated" are saying so because they base their expectations on the most recent comments here, which for me is wrong because the users' reactions (a.k.a. "the feels") to the latest episode is not the same as that of the first episode. For instance, when someone here has read a great reaction about ep. 13, they'll be encouraged to watch the 1st episode because, based on that reaction, the drama is superb. But the 1st episode would end up disappointing his/her because this watcher didn't react the same way. Again, for me, this is wrong because the "wow" factor for both episodes is different.
Basically, what I'm saying is that for those who call the drama overrated, I suggest that you give it another chance; watch the first episode again. If you still don't like it, that's perfectly okay, but please put your biases aside. Don't think of it as a bad drama just because it's becoming "mainstream."
I love how the drama doesn't follow a linear narrative (it jumps back and forth between the present day and the day they crashed). It makes the story better IMO
I love love LOVE how every scene in every episode isn't useless—even the subplots help the main plot progress and the characters develop aND I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH U DON'T GET A LOT OF KDRAMAS LIKE THIS
I love how it's centered primarily around women, while the men are the supporting characters. It really is a refreshing sight to see in the drama world. It's also great that they're tapping on issues that women face in their workplace (Jin Myeong's plot) & relationships (Ye Eun's plot), and honestly I can go on and on about how much I love these girls and their bonding/arguments, but it's better if you watch this drama yourself!! ❤️ ❤️
I hope more people would watch this drama—it's really good and the pace of the story is just right. (I'm not updated with the original series, though, so my judgments are completely based on the drama.)
To be honest, this mini-drama could use some improvements in terms of the execution of the story. I'm only on EP4 though so hopefully it gets better! Also, personally I'm not fond of how the Claire talks (is it just me or she's screaming most of time?)
BUT I'm really having fun watching it. It's a legit feel good drama that actually makes me feel happy. I also like the whole concept of the drama. Basically, the whole thing shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Ohmygod that part in EP1 where they were fighting over the class slots—that's basically the university life in my country lmao. I'm loving everything about drama so far!
