I love this show. It's cute, it's funny, and all the actors are great. My favourite is Oku Tomoya, though. He is a very talented actor, given he's only 18.
Episode 1 wasn't good, episode 2 was worse. Watching a writer who isn't writing, and a band that isn't playing, isn't much fun. Well, at least Plengrak is making coffee.
I liked this series a lot. Like the tiktok series "Bad Roommate", they simply didn't have the time for all those fillers and tropes of longer series. The actors were surprisingly good, too. If this is a kind of Thai tiktok Gameboys, please let there be a Thai tiktok Gameboys 2.
When this remake was announced I was wondering how they would turn a series of 4 short episodes into a series of 10 longer episodes without adding loads of fillers and unnecessary drama. Now I think they are doing a brilliant job, because instead of adding fillers they take their time explaining the characters and displaying the evolution of their relationship. I also like it that the characters aren't black or white, but they have both strengths and weaknesses like real human beings.
Apart from the good script and directing, it is the cast that is brilliant even in the smaller support roles that makes this series the best Thai series that is currently airing.
Usually it's an evil ex-girlfriend everybody hates, this time it's a guy which doesn't make it any better. But Yanase and Kaneda are so cute together that Benji can't remove the smile from my face.
In previous episodes, it was only Ton I liked. But I must admit I enjoyed episode 5. Maybe it's getting better gradually, or maybe I'm getting used to it.
I'm sad this is about to end. I'm rooting for them, but Tono just runs with his emotions, like a normal 21st century…
The AI theory alludes to Jinloe's previous tiktok series "I'm your boyy", where one of the "leads", Mr. R, is AI. Tono actually mentions Mr R at one point.
This coffee felt decaffeinated and way too sweet for me. Pavel definitely has "it", but I'm not sure if Benz does. Anyway, in real life Duean wouldn't stand a chance against Nuea.
Episode 3 was slightly better than the previous ones, which wasn't hard to do because eps 1 and 2 were abysmal. I won't drop it although OhmFluke are disappointing (again), but they are surrounded by a gathering of serious eye candy, and hopefully some nice side plots.
This little series has caught me completely. I couldn't wait for episodes 16 - 18 to be released on youtube, so I watched them on tiktok, and it's really getting dramatic now. Like I said a week ago: I don't want this to end after 20 episodes. And even if this series comes to an end, I hope to see more of the lead actors who are doing a great job, given that they are newbies.
Yiwaa almost made me forget what my mother taught me: never beat a girl! When I was just getting angry at the scriptwriter, some of the most beautiful and brilliantly acted scenes followed. Yin and War are so good, well, the whole series is, and it raises high expectations for "Future" which will focus on Fuse and Ana.
That was a good start. The idea was explained well, some of the dialogues were really funny, and we don't need to talk about the acting. Sea was already good in 55:15, and he's doing great in a main role, just as Jimmy will when we'll get to see more of him, I'm sure.
After reading some of the comments, it feels like I am the only one really enjoying Gameboys 2, although the overall rating indicates otherwise. It is true that the movie is a short version of season 2, but I still don't find it boring, because some of the additional scenes are pure gold. Cinematography is movie quality, the script is credible, and Elijah and Kokoy are among the very best actors the genre has to offer.
Apart from the good script and directing, it is the cast that is brilliant even in the smaller support roles that makes this series the best Thai series that is currently airing.
