This is why the storytelling feels disjointed - on one hand, you’re trying to tell me that people in Ayutthaya era didn’t know lip kisses yet hence why Dech kissed the way he did, and that mlm relationships were frowned upon/had to be hidden because of the consequences hence the slowburn and Dech taking time to come to terms with his feelings. But on the other hand, you have a 20 year old noble who immediately kissed his love interest (of 2 seconds?) and got freaky with him (in public!)…so what exactly are you trying to convey with all of this mixed messages?

So after doing a little bit of research, I found out that Sri isn’t even a real historical figure. He’s just a mythical legend and no one can really prove his existence. But because his story is so embedded in Thai folklore, people tend to mistake him as being real lol. And honestly, this makes me even more upset that they decided to give his story so much screen time. It just means that his plot was completely unnecessary and if they wanted a little history telling in this version, they could have just kept it to Falcon/Marie.

My qualms about this show remain that it has poor and outdated writing, with too many characters to fit in such a short time. Pin and Yam are the only side cp that makes sense, as ReungWad also had little to no development (both to their own arc as well as DechGreat) and in the preview for the next EP, we can see that it’s suddenly not a one-sided love anymore. Also, doesn’t Great forgive a little too easily? The fact that he and Wad are suddenly amicable after Wad (quite literally) tried to kill him doesn’t sit right with me.

One cockfighting scene is unnecessary, two is overkill. If they wanted to portray cockfighting, please portray it in a way that we all would like to see (iykyk) instead of animal abuse.

I was excited for the waterfall scene, and was let down by the fact that the kiss was…literally what we already saw in the MV? I was genuinely expecting that there would be more to it after. That Great would tease Dech about his kissing skills and then teach him how to do it properly, especially after the tension of all the almost kisses. It’s such a shame because the scenery was so, so beautiful and it was such a nice set up and could have been an iconic scene but they decided to cut it short to give way to…Sri again. It just felt empty after, like they should have had a conversation to straighten their feelings out properly after the kiss but instead they wrote Dech running away (again). I wouldn’t be grumbling if this was in EP 4, but with 3 EPs to go, it’s really time for the mains to get together.

I’m staying until the end cause I’m already here anyway, but there is really a lot of plot holes that make the story telling feel disjointed. It’s such a waste of AugustLeng’s chemistry because I feel like they have so much potential as a pair and I genuinely do like their scenes in the show and their interactions off screen…It would really be a shame if this is their only show together. I hope they get another opportunity to work as a pair (with a better script) because I think they deserve a bit of justice.

So happy with how EP 6 turned out that I forgot all my grievances about EP 5 😌

Favourite scene was when Dech was all up in arms speaking loudly at Pin as if he wouldn’t be able to do anything if Pin wasn’t around just to get Great to volunteer himself to take care of him. Giggled at all the stolen glances and secret smiles and reminded me why I love slow burn so much (did not appreciate the cut off at the end though! 😂)

I think one thing that initially annoyed me was when Dech was still going “He seems like Por Gaew, but he’s not Por Gaew” at the beginning cause I thought we were already past that but I’m glad they didn’t stretch it out too long this time lol Hopefully that’s the end of it and Dech accepts it for what it is.

I did not like what Wad did and how there was zero consequences for him (as opposed to what would happen if it was Gaew who did it) but at least there’s finally a bit of substance to his character.

My criticism mainly stems from the fact that this show is running for less than an hour per week and there are only 10 eps. I wouldn’t have complained so much about the lack of DechGreat this ep and would probably have enjoyed ReungWat more if I knew there was more time to develop everyone’s stories :( With ReungWat, I wish there was more depth to the characters and how they relate to the mains in the past before being introduced to the NC scene in the future. I just feel like it came too soon.

I agree that they probably should have scrapped the Sri/Jam plotline for this version considering the runtime. In my ideal world, Sri should have maintained the brother who has a slight homoerotic attraction to Great and who occasionally gets on Dech’s nerves and purposely makes him jealous cause he knows how much Dech likes Great.

Yeah between the interrogation scene and the durian scene and a couple of other scenes, the writing of this show seems to just have a bad habit of dragging things more than necessary.

That is the only time he tried and it lasted what, 2 mins? Realistically, he should keep trying especially since Great himself also has a bit of a stubborn streak. He wouldn’t stop just because Dech intervened once.

+ I think aside from DechGreatKaew, the only other characters I care for are Yam and Pin.

The writers simply did not develop Reung/Wat (and all the other characters too tbh) enough for me to care for them.

I’ll start with the positive first: personally, I like the slowburn pacing with Dech and Great’s relationship because to me, considering their history and everything, it makes sense. I like how their feelings for each other are slowly starting to unfold, how Dech is falling, how they’re both opening up to each other. I think it’s cute and I think they’re sweet and I’m still very much interested in their love line.

My biggest issue with this series at the moment is the writing. For example in ep 5, the interrogation scene dragged on for far too long and it was so unnecessary because they were just going in circles and repeating the same thing over and over again. It really shouldn’t have taken a quarter of the episode. This series really has problems with dragging scenes that don’t matter too much.

If they wanted to stick to the original and have as many characters as it did, they should have considered longer run time and longer episodes. Now everything just feels all over the place because we’re at halfway point and suddenly there’s 1001 new characters. All these characters should have been introduced at ep 3 at best. And like a comment below said, I agree that Sri isn’t interesting enough on his own and should have been a character who occasionally pops up rather than have his own story and love line. 1 straight couple with Falcon and Mali is already enough please. I don’t want to see any more straighties in my BL.

Why have we still not gotten Kaew’s backstory and why he turned out the way he did? Are we supposed to just assume things? Why does everyone hate him? It can’t be just because he loves causing trouble, right?

And every episode we get a scene of Great staring into space and lamenting about how he misses grandma but why is he not trying to get back to his own timeline? That’s another problem - this show lacks a lot of “sense of urgency” where it’s required.

I don’t mind side couples, but to me, if you want to include side couples they have to bring something to the plot, support the main characters and make the story feel more whole. In this case, it feels more like we’re watching multiple short stories that don’t connect together. In the case of ReungWat, I keep wondering why they’re necessary. I had hoped that Reung would be Dech’s closest confidant somewhat, a best friend, someone he goes to when he’s in a turmoil. But Reung only shows up to capture Great and then suddenly there’s this whole love triangle going on with Wat and Dech and him? What are they all even to each other for this love triangle to suddenly pop up? And the NC scene…sorry I just sighed. Don’t get me wrong, the actors did well but again, was it necessary? We have barely seen their development even in the past and then suddenly they’re going all wild in the future. It just felt like they put the NC scene there for attention grab more than for the good of the plot.

There are just so many things I feel like they can cut off or trim off. I’m only staying because I love Leng a lot and want to support him and I genuinely also love the chemistry between him and August (secretly hoping they try for another project after this because it’d be such a waste of good chemistry if this is all they have). I just hope in the next 5 eps we can see more of the leads and the romance between them as well as REAL plot development instead of all these fillers that is just making the story go nowhere.

That skibidi line felt like a boomer trying to fit into Gen Alpha slang 😭 I was also kinda expecting more drama this ep like imo, the part where Great/Kaew gets accused of m*rder should have come sooner and they didn’t have to show Mali getting harassed twice just to introduce Falcon. That scene just felt repetitive of the ending of ep 3, y’know?

I also love that we got to see more of Dech’s thoughts/feelings. The way his nose was flaring up in jealousy had me giggling.

In my deluded head, the one who wrote the poem was Great, and P’Sri is gonna fall in love with Great’s writing and Dech will have one additional competitor 😜

Ep 4 was fun! Definitely better than 3 and I loved seeing Dech get all jealous and seeing the progression of his feelings (no matter how slow it’s getting him to realize). The tension in the almost kiss was divine 😋

I think my main concern with this show right now is, it’s already 4 episodes in and I still don’t know the direction of where it’s going. I understand that it’s based on a lakorn from 2018, but some of the humour just feels so outdated and doesn’t translate well into a 2026 BL. You can tell that the writers and director are applying their lakorn expertise into the show, but I just wish they’d done more research on what current viewers like in a BL as opposed to relying on what was popular in 2018.

I’m still going to keep watching though, cause I do like August and Leng’s chemistry a lot and I believe it will get better as we approach the halfway mark. I hope in the future they consider working together again (for a modern series lol) cause I feel like a period series for a CP as fresh as them (and based on a largely popular lakorn at that) might have weighed heavily on them.

I unfortunately have to agree :( I know there’s comedy in this but the food scenes were just too silly in my opinion and after such a strong start with EP 1 and 2, it just felt so out of place and didn’t fit the running theme they had. It definitely could have been executed better, but I also feel like it has to do with the director’s background being more well-versed in lakorn…Thai lakorn viewers love overexagerrations like this.

I’m hoping with how serious EP 4 looks, all the silliness with the extra effects will simply stay in EP 3 and we won’t see it again at all 🤞🏼

I feel like you kind of have to read in between the lines re: the cooking, I’m assuming he learned most from his grandma.

I do get what you mean by the virgins part but you have to take into consideration that this is set in Ayutthaya period where loving men isn’t something “common” and also not something most would even consider. Arranged marriages (rather than marriage for love) were also more common in this era, so I feel like his reaction fits the period it’s set in. Based on his “ranking” too, I don’t think he’s ever had time to consider love or dating lol.

I agree that EP 3 felt slower, almost like a filler EP, but the next one looks like it’s action packed! Please don’t give up yetttttt 🥹

Re: Durian. Durian IS an acquired taste but actually, there’s so, so, so many types of durian nowadays that you’re bound to find something you like. There are certain durians that I prefer more than others! I’ve never tried it in crisp form like they showed in the series but I think the smell will always be there (just a little less pungent 😂).

in the recent gmmtv livehouse episode, leng said that he got through gmmtv and kidnap through casting (and at the time did not know who he would act alongside with). so every butthurt person who accused him of getting things through connections better apologise 🤷🏻‍♀️

actually, i’m a little confused with regards to why nueng is so rude and hates pim so much - i understand that she was grieving and hated that pim was around her dad so soon after her mom died, and she was a teenager too at the time, which was fair. but in the flashback in ep 9, pim wasn’t removing her mom’s pictures, she was just going to get the maid to get them cleaned but in nueng fashion, she thought differently and didn’t even give a chance for pim to properly explain (the flashback was very brief though, so there might be more to the story that we still don’t know about). still, even with that as a backstory it’s still quite difficult for me to sympathise with her since so far she’s been shown to be selfish and bratty with no regards to anyone’s feelings (including ppl she claims to be her friends).

this is my first time watching punpun and i quite like the energy she and tay has together. read up her profile and didn’t realise she was (is?) quite problematic though granted that her scandals happened 6-8 years ago and she has (hopefully) changed for the better. but can’t help but wonder too if the reason she’s playing the role of nueng so well is bc myb she’s like that irl too? 🤭

honestly, i had really high expectations for this series bc i enjoyed jimmy's performance in bad buddy, and was excited to see him in a main role, and the fact that ohm and nanon were going to cameo sold it for me as well. but a series that had so much potential just ended up being a disappointment in the end (and yes, i did watch all 12 eps).

it started out fairly good tbh and i loved the whole concept of the multiverse thing and thought there were so many good angles they could go with but i guess things got lost in translation along the way. there were just too many plotholes and too many unsolved issues and there were so much timeskips? i understand that it'd be difficult to cram the entire plot in 12 eps but some of the timeskips were so jarring and weirdly placed. also - can gmmtv limit the amount of sponsors they take for a show? lmao this was so ad heavy like i don't mind tie-ins if they're done well but so many of the tie-ins and ads in VV were in your face and out of place (like why do they need to brush their teeth in every damned ep??!"?!?!"?"?)

what i did enjoy from the show: the friendship. i loved the side characters a lot, esp aou and up and felt like they brought so much light to the show. i enjoyed sea's acting too, esp in the last ep when he cried as he came back to his mom (that rly pulled on my heartstrings). i liked that they hinted at aoufuse being canon.

ngl, i was a little disappointed at jimmy's acting. i don't think he's bad per se, but i think he needs a bit more practice and workshops bc a lot of the times it felt like he was very aware of the cameras and he was trying his best to look good rather than focus on being his character. the kisses weren't bad, but they didn't make me feel much. their cheek/forehead kisses were cuter imo.

all in all, i think the writing and directing for this series just fell short. if you're looking for something simple and cute, then you'd like it. but if you're expecting more from the whole travelling universes plot, then i'd say save your time and watch smth else lol.
