Man, I completely agree with you, I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggled to see this.
I saw the Thai og and already thought it was mega cringe. Then when the Japanese version came out I thought it might be a lil better, especially since I saw ads for it in the subway when I was in Japan. Alas this version is also really cringey, and the out and aloud dating situation doesn't really match Japan so idk. I thought it couldn't be worse until these two episodes which gave me second hand embarrassment. I saw this version to attempt so see a more mature version, somehow it ended even worse.
I don't think the problem is in the actors at all, if anyone is wondering, I think the story itself is pretty lame.
I saw someone here saying they changed the story a lot from manga to drama and that they even added a love interest. It made me scared of watching this through the end. I hate when adaptation is mangas change the story line unnecessarily, especially when they have more than enough content. For example Takaras Vidro is one small volume transformed into a bigger show, so plotlines were added and details changed to fill that void. The same more or less happened with sugar dog life. This manga right here however has 5 volumes and it is still ongoing. They have more than enough story material.

Also to whomever said that Taichi here seems to have a hard time communicating when in the manga he is a good communicator they haven't read the manga right.

to the rest of the world yeah he was 15 there he was 16 .. still . its i hard perfomance for a 16 yo kid ? yeah did he pull it off ?yeah he did. perfectly. it aids to his amazing acting skills. especially being that young. there have been more disturbing movies out there tho. like
