Waw.. I'm really glad none of my fav actresses are in this article. I think they should be given community service…
I researched it on google? All the sources stated that it does not affect pregnancy at all. And she was 1 months pregnant when the scandal broke.
And as I said before, I don't know if the child will experience any health problems later on, but it was reported that it was born healthy.

Propofol does NOT affect pregnancy. Plus, she was not even taking propofol when she was pregnant because it was around the time the scandal broke. So, you're wrong.
i'm shocked with this news. but i remember park si yeon has a problem with her back. maybe she uses this for it?
This is what really baffles me the most. If that's the case then she isn't really guilty of anything. Her doctor testified that. He even apologized that he said that PSY was dependent on the drug.
We can't know of course all the things that were said and revealed during the hearings but judging from this, the verdict was unfair to say the least.

It's more than that. Quoting from an article:
"The actress had been suffering from avascular necrosis at the head of her femur. In other words, the bone tissue in the head of her femur had been dying from lack of blood.
According to a source close to Park Si Yeon, the actress suffered from a back injury in 2006 while she was filming. Though she had been treated for the injury, the pain did not subside, leading her to tour dozens of hospitals across three years in search of the reason. She was diagnosed in 2009, and left SBS? Family Outing.
The source said, "It?s not that we didn?t treat her even though we knew what it was. She even came to limp because her back hurt, but no hospital could pinpoint why. That?s why she needed to treat her pain with propofol over such a long period of time."
I don't find this bad news at all. Anyone who did something illegal should be punished by law; that's about it.
And no one said they should be above the law. We just pointed out that the verdict should have been different. It should have been rehab and not jail time.

THANK YOU! This is what I have been trying to explain all along. Well said.
And CheerfulSoul, seriously? Are you really gonna get stuck in these technicalities? Yes, in a theoritical sense it is a crime. But it's still a shitty one and we can criticize it. There are countries that have laws that allow husbands to hit their wives. Yes, it is technically a law in said country but it still doesn't make it okay. Likewise, the punishment they gave for this propofol case was not what it should be. Sorry but it is what it is.

This is not what I meant. As I said before, in this case we're talking about an addiction, not a crime. It doesn't matter if it's an actor, an idol or just a regular citizen, this is something that shouldn't be treated as a crime but something that should be treated with rehab. There's a big difference between an actual crime and an addiction.
Plus, every case is influenced by the circumstances. That's why lawyers exist.

Ugh I can't with people that see things so black and white. You do realize that the world doesn't work like that, right? When there are feelings and people involved it's never just about the law.

And oh, I see you watch many dramas from China and Hong Kong too. Do you have any recommendations? (not historical ones because I don't like them)
What are your favorite actors?
And as I said before, I don't know if the child will experience any health problems later on, but it was reported that it was born healthy.
If the drug use will have any effects on the child later on, that I don't know.

And as I said, it's an addiction and it should be treated like such. I repeat, it's not a crime, IT'S AN ADDICTION.
Plus, in this case we are talking about an addiction. The verdict should have been rehab not imprisonment. Korea is full of shit.
And wow way to see things black and white.
