I had kinda, well, mid hopes, but I ended up forcing myself to go through ep1 though I really wanted to give it a chance TT the acting & story wasn't it for me.

You're right. I just felt irritated when unrelated people see her situation (her son ignoring her, then her son's accident) and feel bad for her just because she's a "mother". The general idea that every mother is loving and deserving of kindness.
I'm pitty but I kinda wish the mother never got to make amends and try to make up... The trauma she made to her child wasn't light, he reached past thirty and was still unhappy and unfortunate. How could you, back then, treat everyone well except for your own son? Hell, you treat pigs better than him. Even more so when you were blessed with a good child. He's kind, listens to you, and does well in almost everything. Why would you still feel the need to make things hard for him? What's with all that bullshit about being fated to be a prosecutor early on? She even deprived him of a daily necessity and a basic human right; to eat. You should feel ashamed that your son feels the need to sneak at night to eat. It's so sad and humiliating. The reason behind it is even more ridiculous. I can keep on and on about this. This was all caused by her. She made her son miserable, and she caused his accident too. All of this wouldn't have happened had he chosen the path he wants in life. I just feel so sad for him, he never got to do what he wants. He was never free. And now everything he worked for came to naught. I'm sure he'll be better soon, hopefully, but it's still awful.

I wouldn't say she was doing them a favor by providing a roof over their heads, because at the end of the day he's still her son and his family that became her family too. Also, the mother isn't just staying there, she's making a living and working outside and inside the house. Everyone should receive respect regardless of being an elder or not.
Okay let me roast this!! I'm very disappointed, I really liked it at first. I loved the story, acting, & everything. But hello??? I don't understand how Kim Taek Rok's mind operated at the end????? The man KILLED your best friend and it didn't end at that, he framed you and literally ruined your life when you had so little time left to retire. Your friend even provided you with evidence to his death (which is another ridiculous matter let me not start on it). So after all of this, you're telling me oh you're so kind and gentle (even though it has nothing to do with kindness) that you'd FORGIVE HIM and go tell him, 'My precious, innocent friend, life is long and your future is boundless, you can definitely turn on a new leaf.'???????? I cannot comprehend this logic????? That's without considering the fact that you're a detective whose purpose is to serve justice?????? How can you let a murderer just go away? Oh my God, the final scene was so awful and cringeworthy and made me regret watching the whole thing. That ended everything with me. I'm way too disappointed.
