Blood River is truly a masterpiece

Okay, so I already watched the anime version of this novel and quite liked it. And surprisingly, this is the first time I’ve seen a live-action version that actually manages to be better than the anime. Blew my mind!

This drama is one the best Chinese ancient costume drama in recent years, for real. The quality is insane—it completely amazed me because I usually have low expectations for C-dramas thanks to all the poor quality stuff they've been producing recently.

This drama, on the contrary, was really well made from script, casting, OST and especially the VFX. I mean, the special effects look so incredibly high-end, it feels like you're watching a blockbuster movie. The story is super rich and moves fast, with tons of arcs and secrets that keep unfolding.

I really like Gong Jun and the role Su Muyu is now one of my most favorite characters that he's ever played. I can see his great progress through this role. And the supporting cast, they're all awesome, too. Every single one of them has their own cool factor and gets a chance to shine in their own storylines.

Overall, with no bias and fan filter, I strongly recommend everyone to come and watch this drama. You will not regret a single minute you spend on it.
