Yeah its poetic when u think the girl and the guy in this pair both played 3 roles each! One villain, one spy and one as a good one holding justice. The butterfly twins idek. Like u said literally. The whole arc the best thing was Li Jie's acting. I almost didnt recognize the actors when he was the butterfly demon - styling reminded me of the generation to generation ML. The story and chemistry of Sheguan' master was the best sub plot for me. I really felt for the starstone. Perhaps the biggest misfortune was him meeting that wind demon. Whatever that demon did ended in huge misfortune. Ngl tho I mixed the wind demon (wu Xi think? Who gave the wind power to dragon) with other antagonists like the yuan wuhoo (sorry my brain has registered him as yuan wuhoo but the evil brother iygm)

I thought i was the anomaly because everyone was praising everything. The sub plots I get got out of hand but the crying really took me out. Like in the final arc it totally made sense with ji ling's backstory but they had been having the same crying expressions that it looked like fake tear water droplets flowing down instead. Esp coming from 'in your radiant season' and 'lawless lawyer' where they use frowning, furrowing and lots of muscle expressions and body language. Given this directors high praise i was expecting some sort of standard for it. But he kept all actors crying scenes ditto copy.
