POJ= Pursuit of Jade. Also, Idk I havent seen it. Its like comparing apples and mangoes. For context, idol drams like POJ and LBTG are equivalent of brigerton in west with new actors young blood whereas 7.0 + dramas in douban i have seen r usually more acclaimed with veteran actors like Down Town Abbey in the west. More serious toned and raw without filters even at times.

If u are speaking of rebirth, u cannot compare since its full of controversies in China. Haters r everywhere. It is still a pretty good source (better than mdl) for public opinion of the drama ratings wise as average numbers equalize the nonsensical reviews.

Fairly Good. On the higher end of ratings. Mdl equivalent of 8.6. Anything past 7.0 needs to be spectacular not less heavy on idol visuals but story, plot and script. Very rare for idol dramas to go 7+ there. For context POJ got 6.8. And one of Bai Yu's drama swords into Plowshore got 7.8 (mdl equivalent of 9.6 imo) (extraordinary feat).

Yup. Like LBFAAD u need to watch special ep. Otherwise u could say its OE based on just ep 40. Standard xinxia ending things.

Hmm really a matter of interpretation. I wouldn't even give it that -an open ending- cz if they didnt solve the mystery plot line of her descendant and his servant that would be more like an incomplete ending to me if u dont watch the special as supplementary to flesh out the ending and trust it as canon and not an alternate ending. Yet to see it but I think they could def have worked to make the timing more intentional. And adapted the final extra chs too.

Its okay ik which scene u mean where they stopped at the end of ep 40 and finished off the novels ending in the special. Thanks for spoiling! I mini panicked when I read it was open ending. They probably ran out of time due to bad execution. Their wedding g wasn't really that long in novel at best 2 lines. The goddess of fate played a bigger role after she fought with Simu's descendant in last chapter. Really u predictable novel in terms of who becomes immortal or is predicted to in the end haha. There is a future up they talked of in extra chs for that descendant once he accents and his servant (who was the goddess of fate shadowing him and saved DX in the novel lol)

HE but from my understanding u have to watch the special too as they moved the novels ending in it. Ignore for the emotional impact they ended it at the point where he was really sick and about to die. Overall HE.
