Lighthearted show, with very mature FL character and "mostly" mature ML character. Great main lead cast and very good side characters. The story was interesting to watch once and a lot of the plot was kind of on the nose. I can imagine how I would not be very interested in watching this show after a few episodes, if I didnt have experience playing tennis myself on a competitive level. All in all this was a good drama to binge watch with a mellow almost boring ending.
It was a "okay" one time watch. There are a lot great life lessons, for certain situations, for me tho it got frustrating to watch in the end, because of how much of a circlejerk the relationship between the two main character has become. Also one of the ost was kind of nice.
I liked the atmosphere and the music a lot, and I could relate to most of the first half. The second half and the end... that I am probably too stupid to understand.
This would have been so good if they just made a lot of dark humor/comedy, mythic, romance with a pinch of thriller. But noooooo, it was one of those one 15 min moment gets stretched over 16 hours with everybody turning into clueless potatoes.
I guess it’s not worth wasting my time on it then?
I like Dilraba and the characters she plays, if you like someone from the cast, then I would at least try watching . Drop it if it gets boring, or just fast forward/skip, like I did.
boring end, a bunch of fillers, no romance - only teasing, good action scenes, good acting, fun beginning, smart main characters becoming stupid proportionally to the progression of the drama.
This was fun to watch at the start, with a lot of silly moments, but got increasingly exhausting watching it to the end, with the story moving to the ridiculous forced war part, plot became boring.
You cant judge the role at the initial episodes. Even at episode 1 he was already showing empathy to the old guy…
Like I said, I really like the dark atmosphere, and especially the fighting scenes, so the wuxia part is actually what I liked, and the other genre and tags are actually just up my alley if you look at my profile stats. I watched 5 episodes tht is already 20% of the entire series... the initial episodes is where the characters and backstory get introduced, if that takes up even more than 1/5 of the whole drama, then this is definitely way to slow pace. Also to point out, long converstions and everybody talks veeeery slow, except for Zi Shang ( which I really enjoyed the comedy parts of). This is okay for some scenes, but very overplayed (almost unnatural) when almost every conversation is like that. The idea was probably to portray the characters as wise and deep thinking, calculating every step kind of way, but this got them nowhere.
The part of Zi Yu protecting the brides is especially stupid. This is basically going against your family, precisely because he got the information that there is a assassin among them. They are all outsiders that potentially come from the Wu Feng faction ( which our Zi Yu baby is of course oblivious to this fact, because he somehow didint give a damn about his clan affairs, that is probably the last and strongest faction, literally living surrounded by poison on a mountain (how badass is that?) ). So our hornyboy shows them empathy, because it would be a tragedy if one of the potential assassins might die, but somehow its okay if they kill one or two people in his clan, what a good boy prince he is. Not immediately telling his father, the head of the clan about this. Does Zi Yu think he is smarter than the head of the clan, and all the elders that let those girls in? Does he actually think he can outsmart the frigging Wu Feng and find the assassin ???? holy cow.. sometimes ppl confuse stupidity with empathy.
he isn't stupid like AT ALL. at the beginning he is naive but he ends up being one of the smartest characters…
nah dont play me like that, ususally oblivious and naive goody two shoes mc's dont figure out the starting plot until the final episodes. And why dont the elders pursue the matter of the head of family + the next in line getting killed, they just chill and appoint the next head?? Thats so strange, they obviously already know the whole story. This plot screams " we are going to sacrifice ourselfs for the mc to continue his special butterfly existence ". not because its logical but because the screen writer decided it to be so. and just because Zi Yu is show to do detective work and often in deep though, doesnt mean he got smarts, he is just sailing with the flow, and everything gets eventually revealed.
He stays immature and impulsive for most of the drama even when he starts gaining physical strength (even with…
Watched up to ep6, really wanted to enjoy another good drama with Shu Xin, but naaaaah, pass on this one . I dont care about strong or weak characters, but dumb and naive is a pass whenever its a main character that keeps this trait for too many episodes.
Please spoiler me! I am on beginning of ep4 (14m) and Gong Zi Yu seems kind of stupid, is he still playing pretend or is this the actual character???
I really like the atmosphere and really really like the martial arts so far, and all the other characters seem to be interesting. But if a MC in drama is low iq to this level I usually drop it, no regrets.
Is he only at the start like this, or is he still playing the "useless son"? , and one ep later timejump and he learned his lessons or something like that ?
