Is this drama sad? I'm going through it rn, so I don't want to watch a tear jearker lol.
haha dpk_11 must be a troll. this is 120% tearjerker (I only cried big manly tears for a short while), BUT its only at the very beginning and I believe two other scenes later on. Everything else is just fluff, piece and happiness.
The Photo section kind of spoiler it, but whatever. I think it would be more interesting if the main character roles were reversed. The music is good. Story and production... well, cringe and cute. Closer to the end I skipped some parts, could have been shorter.
ep 19 at 11 min was the best haha, basically "get your shit together boooii" hahaha
Lets be real, the story is at most a 7/10, BUT everything else in this novel adaptation is top-notch. From the atmosphere, music, progression and setting, to the cast and production. Especially both the female and male leads is what carries 70% to 80% of this drama rating to a 9 - 9.5 .
First Chen Zhe Yuan, his character is the perfect mix of the most bitter and darkest chocolate and the sweetness of cotton candy. An example of a humble, disciplined and determined human to almost transcendent extent . And Zhe Yuan portrays those qualities on a remarkable level on screen. Personally this is my first time watching him, but after this I will make sure to watch some other dramas with him in the main role. (..also funny thing for me is, Zhe Yuan expressions resemble a lot Ahn Nae Sang acting (like a younger version) *haha*, and I remember Nae Sang for a lot of villain roles, so I had a more negative impression of the character Duan Jia Xu at the start "xD") .
Zhao Lu Si, daaaaaaaamn. In this role her character is a total airhead, gentle and insecure but also a little shrewd and astute (except for romance...). Idk, how should I describe it? It felt like Lusi entered a different kind of level in this role, a higher plane in comparison to her other roles. To be fair it is a modern setting in comparison to most of her other roles, but still... the expressions felt carefree and captivating, and a lot of times like it was off-script.
To wrap thing up: A great cast, pleasing to the eye environment, a good story pace, gentle romance and no rage inducing plot-armor plot. In the end we are left with a few unresolved questions, but nothing that breaks my impression of the show, and if I truly wanted to know the answers I probably would read the novel.
This was definitely worth my time watching and if you like the cast I recommend to give this drama a try.
I am really curious . I wonder why people who disliked and dropped the drama but still wandering around/ keep…
I assume most of the people with negative emotions about this drama stay here precisely because they want to like it, but there was something that bugged them. In some countries, like for me, it just finished releasing with dubs and for those who were hoping for a change in the aspect that they didn't like, but there was none they are just left with frustration and they let it out here. Which is perfectly normal in my opinion.
As somebody who is browsing the web it is mostly my responsibility to determine if somebody made a well reasoned comment, or just left their based opinion.
But honestly this drama is so overwhelmingly good that no amount of hate raters will be enough to drop the rating significantly. Every other malicious use of rating manipulation should be well in the scope of the MDL admins to handle.
I am curious about something. Dont come at me... DJX is in so much debt from his dad's crime, mom's medical n…
I believe they mentioned at some point that they sold their house for this. And I don't know how the law works in China, but the cost for killing somebody is generally cheaper than injuring somebody permanently where you have to pay for their existence. Also he paid it off only after his internship and later working at the gaming company. Even the entry level payment of a programmer of his calibre is probably more than 100k a year.
And Duan Jia Xu mentioned, at the deathbed of his father, that if he didn't hit and run, he would be already out of prison ( at that point it would be approx. 10-15 years) . I assume the reputation damage is valued higher than the cost of somebody's life insurance in China.
Edit: also this is not a reality show, there got to be some leeway for the story to progress.
End is pretty annoying... its an open ending... ML returns back and time is set to the point of his time travel…
DAMN, I am glad I read this beforehand, I hate those "everything was a dream / everything was a story in a book that one of the lead actually writes etc.". In the end I feel like I was the stupid one for watching a fiction of a fiction.. wish there was a tag for this , like, "inception" or something.
The drama was quite interesting. It explored various themes related to family dynamics, although I couldn't personally relate much due to the cultural differences. Nevertheless, I found it interesting. There were some adorable romantic moments, well-executed character development, and I enjoyed witnessing the growth and transformation of the main characters, especially when it unfolded gradually over multiple episodes.
One recurring aspect throughout the series was the theme of "self-sacrifice for the sake of others, with the belief of knowing what's best for them." If this type of plot doesn't appeal to you, then it's apparent that this drama might not be your cup of tea.
It was perfectly long for what the show is. A lot of silly moments, funny characters, many ridiculous situations and toilet jokes that I dont really understand . The best thing in my opinion is how ruthless the main villain characters were in executing their plan, almost breaking the silly flow of the show.
If they release a second season I dont think that I will watch it tho.
Love to Hate You is a must-watch for fans of romantic comedies and action-packed dramas. The show delivers a perfect mix of positive energy, funny moments, and cool action scenes that will keep you hooked from start to finish.
One of the highlights of the show is its likable characters. The lead actors and actresses are not only beautiful, but they also have great chemistry on-screen. Their interactions will surely make you root for them, even when they are at odds with each other.
The pacing of the drama is fast and dynamic, but not overwhelming. The show's ability to keep the audience engaged without making them feel rushed is commendable. Moreover, the show has a lot of positive vibes that can uplift your mood and make you feel happy.
Another aspect that stands out in Love to Hate You is its OST. Each episode has a different OST at the end, and they're all fantastic. The music complements the scenes well and adds another layer of enjoyment to the drama.
Overall, Love to Hate You is an enjoyable watch that will make you smile. Its combination of romance, comedy, and action makes for an entertaining and engaging drama that you won't want to miss.
