I really like this article with Chinese dramas pumping out in large volumes. What started me getting into Chinese…
Agreed about your point related to China's government. Go Go Squid was one of the modern Cdramas that was quite patriotic (though not necessarily with values and beliefs).
For me, second male leads are second male leads for a reason. It's rare and not highly favoured for a drama's FL to steer towards the SML over ML. I believe you would just like more MLs to be NICE like most SMLs. Tbh many dramas already have nice MLs. Just have to find the right ones.
Tho agreed, I don't like disappointing/tragic endings for SMLs.
Ugh despite her past, I really did like her acting. It's too bad she didn't come clean MUCH earlier, instead of letting this can of worms sit around waiting to be open for so long.
I found it people are so quick at hating people’s appearance. He’s a ballet dancer, and all ballet dancers…
And this is why naturally thin people feel super insecure. I have several friends even thinner than him that eat alot because people always comment on their body. Stop correlating size and health.
To be very honest, I only found it very average the first 8 eps and was only interested in the historical element of the drama. The drama peaked afterwards and made me laugh and cry like a baby in the last 5-6 eps.
Yu Jin-O managed to intrigue me enough and dragged me past ep 9, while the historical story carried me through the remainder of the drama.

First 20 eps: 9/10
Overall: 8/10
