I had doubts of if it was FL's senior but it just doesn't feel that way. I don't think he has an obsession with ML or FL. However I am leaning heavily towards the step-sister, I also feel like there is not any connection between the step-sister and the kidnapper.
I was looking at the cast list and felt like it was Choi Woo Jin. The nose, eyes (left big and right match). We haven't been introduced to him yet but I feel like it will be the typical story of how the the kidnapper is jealous/obsessed with the ML from school, etc. and wants to take everything away from him. I have also heard that the ML isn't actually the biological son and is an illegitimate one. He took the original person's name and identity, maybe that person is mad or mentally unstable and the family doesn't want to have someone like that in their family because it would be such a scandal *eye roll*. maybe the original person has come back to take their right full place.
The one thing I am sure of is that it is revenge against the ML.
I like it but I can't wait for this every week. I plan to finish this after it has aired because it's not holding my interest from week to week. I don't hate it but I am not super tuned into it either.
Ci's relationship with Pei Yan is more surface level than anything now. Putting myself in her position would I rather be with -
Person A - restricts me - makes decisions for me - tried to kiss me forcefully - does not take my feeling into consideration - tried to act as if I hurt him (the boat scene where is uses her hand to hurt himself) - breaks his promise
Person B - someone who has tried to kill me but after getting to know each other we now have an understanding - someone who has manipulated me in the past and will possibly continue to manipulate me, the difference being I know to expect it; doesn't matter if I think it's okay or not
Before someone says anything about how he tried to kill her let's be clear - Wei Zhao is ruthless but so is Pei Yan, HOWEVER when it's someone they care about they go above and beyond as long as it is not against their big goals.
Pei Yan says he likes her but, I have said this before, he treats her like an object her desires, something he wants to own. Wei Zhao after getting to know her has stopped trying to kill her but has been suspicious of her. He also knows that getting close to her is not a good idea for him. Sooner of later she will die either by his hand or someone else's because of his grand plans. He also needs Ci's master which is something he knows will hurt her.
As far as I remember the stakes during Pei Yan's situation were much different as well as their relationship. Pei Yan never tried to kill or hurt her intentionally. Yes he may have manipulated her BUT Pei Yan and Ci got along together and have a kind of friendship (although there is more from his side). Wei Zhao on the other hand has been essentially keeping her away from the only person she knows, loves and care about deeply. As well as hurting her and being mean to her for the better part of the drama so far.
You also have to understand that what they have been through in Yueluo, the good, and the bad would make any person think that they are past all these things and that they really care for one another. Meaning Wei Zhao would consider her feeling about what he wants to do with her master. What Wei Zhao did regarding her Master is in her eyes the biggest break of trust. Ci also understands that Wei Zhao doesn't have good intentions for her Master in the future.
I don't remember every detail but the two situations CANNOT be compared and ask Ci to react the same. Hell you don't know how you will react from one day to another for the same situation. You could be triggered from something on day 1 (Events before Wei Zhao gets slapped) and truly lash out, maybe get physically aggressive whereas on day 2 nothing happened (Events before Pei Yan tried to kiss her) you could yell and be done with it.

The First Shot and then love in the desert as well as The story of the pearl girl starring Zhao Lusi are also starting tomorrow and on Monday respectively. Let's see how I like those.
After watching episodes 28 & 29 today i have some predictions on how this is going to go.
Ci and Wei Zhao have now figured out that the emperor intends to use and control Ci, which they both don't want. Having no other plan they need to help each other especially since Ci is DONE with Pei Yan (so am I, I hope it stays this way) to escape or whatever. They might have to get married for real this time in order to save Ci (idk just a feeling).
Slowly they will clear their misunderstanding of what happened with Wei Zhao's father and Ci's dad. Wei Zhao's identity will be revealed when he opens the case about what happened to Yueluo, some how I feel the Emperor was involved.
I feel like the final boss will be Pei Yan's mother and her Lu Yu as they might or might now join forces to rebel. Pei Yan will have to make a decision on whose side he wants to go with and it will be an internal struggle but I have a feeling he will choose Wei Zhao and Ci's side.
After the big rebellion Wei Zhao and Ci will take leave for Yueluo from the capital and the emperor lets them go. Pei Yan will become Prime Minister and his father's legacy etc. will be restored. I also have a feeling that Ci's master will die during this but then again these are just my predictions.
Hopefully this way we get the happy ending we want and it's still an interesting drama. Let me know what you guys think!
