Title Revenge of Others Spoiler
i think there was something between wonseok and jaebum. that explains why date pictures showed no faces, what osung would have on wonseok to make him do things and why jaebum would try to kill himself. it could be sejin as well, who knows. and also, when wonseok told chanmi he had something to tell her perhaps he was planning to come out? just a thought.

as for the murderer, i think whoever murdered wonseok also killed hyeokgeon, i don't think sooheon was the one who finished him off. the last we saw of that scene he was holding a saw thing, but hyeokgeon was strangled.

i really don't get the thought process here, though it's clear they're trying to portray yoongyeom as some sort of an innocent victim. you're guilty not only when you pull the trigger, but are being complacent about the injustices you witness and are part of. he literally possessed blood stained documents and now he feels disgusted as if he never knew? he knew that lael's mom was killed by sora, it's pretty stupid to say he didn't (because of course, she just detained her and she accidentally died in captivity, as if any of that is natural), just as other crimes, but lael's mom being murdered is where he draws the line? he stayed quiet through all of it, built an empire drenched with blood. his name is on the lawsuit, backed with evidence and countless victims, but he's so gullible he had no idea about anything? it's so frustrating.

he wants lael to remember him fondly, but shoves her around, then chases her down to retrieve the documents. he doesn't feel any remorse towards the victims, but is willing to die now that it's about lael. this level of selfishness is beyond me lmao.

and writers are heavily pushing a narrative that he's a poor helpless man, trapped with monsters. that man doesn't give a flying fuck about anything other than himself and what relates to his feelings.

He does not know yet, that Ra El is Gediks owner daughter. If he would know, he might never asked what does he…
he was told before coming that jang moon hee and the daughter were involved in the lawsuit. he then has flashbacks, including when lael talked about her father's technology. it's definitely implied.

Title Eve Spoiler
even after this if they imply that he kept all those documents to bring them down it'll be really unconvincing. he really had bloody document tucked away for 13 years and there's not a single indicator that he was planning to do anything with it. he was involved in the acquisition, knew what was going on and still chose to turn a blind eye. not only on this one, but on many cases. he's a victim, too, yes, but that doesn't make him a good person and that became further apparent after today's episode. if i do remember correctly, he asks what he ever did to her to deserve this. lol, i don't know, perhaps the illegal acquisition they're all now panicking about shattered her life and sanity to pieces? he could try reflecting on his actions for once, it won't hurt.
On Eve Jul 13, 2022
Title Eve Spoiler
i hope they won't try to justify or overlook what he did to her. no matter the circumstances, this is abuse. to be honest, it should've been clear what kind of person he is when he pushed lael down to the ground before. it's clear that what yoongyeom needs is not a relationship, but therapy.

as for eunpyeong, lael doesn't love him, that's true. and i am torn about what i want for them. on the one hand, i want them to find their own ways alone, as eunpyeong needs to learn to live for himself and lael has to heal. on the other hand, it's pretty apparent to me that the only reliable person she has is him and eunpyoeng doesn't have anybody but her. their relationship doesn't necessarily need to be romantic now, but platonic.
On Eve Jul 1, 2022
Title Eve Spoiler
there are many types of love. eunpyeong's love is not fully a romantic one, its basis is her father, because of whom he feels guilty/indebted towards her and also his loneliness. he's a lonely man, has nobody, no family, no loved ones, other than lael. i think this emotional attachment formed when she still was in the usa, considering her the only family left. it's vital to know that these are not feelings that came out of nowhere, he aches for her. it's only after they met again did romantic side of love began to develop. so, it's not really purely romantic feelings, it's a mix.

the point is, though, that he's an anchor for lael. eunpyeong partially keeps her sane, even more so now, when she's about to fully descend headfirst into chaos and she has to put on a mask in front of everybody: moonhee, yoonkyeom, her husband, etc. the only person she can freely show her real side to is eunpyeong, without acting. he doesn't try dictate how she should act, who she should be; he neither seeks her body nor he tries to use her for his own solace, it's unconditional. whether they end up together or not, eunpyeong still serves an important role in her life and positively so, at that.

Title Eve Spoiler
i think they left out who the main lead is purposefully.

yoon kyeom is her twin flame, someone she possibly is, or will be, attracted to. for now i can't really see that from la el's side, but they inserted this bit for a reason, i'm sure. but they'll ruin each other. both of them have their traumas that are in someways alike, they can't heal one another and from the looks of it, this relationship is destructive and seductive to its core, with no longevity.

as for eun pyeong, he's the only one who sees la el for who she really is and she only allows herself to be vulnerable in front of him. eun pyeong is not motivated by lust or some advantage he could gain from la el, he just loves and wants the best for her. besides herself, la el needs him to heal from her wounds.

if yoon kyeom is the destruction, then eun pyeong is the healing.

Honestly, I find his naivety amusing. His family is technically nouveau riche and these kinds don't usually get…
no, writing a cheapskate character is not bad writing. however, lack of subtlety, almost a caricature of a certain group of people is not, as i said in the first comment, charming or likeable. everything that could be indicator of him, is in-your-face. i don't appreciate that. and to understand where this kind of characterisation and choices is coming from, at least a bit of context is needed. i'm not trashing the writers work, but i dislike how they're handling this character.

as for the business, lending money to the gallery you don't know financial situation, don't even know the director, have no idea about their situation, is not exactly the most professional thing to do. and to show a business side of the story, even partially, doesn't require it to be a specific genre.

every characterisation that differs from what we usually see on screens is interesting, including yes, their development, but in this case the problem stems from the fact that we don't see quality writing for him. we're four episodes in, we've seen emotional depths for dali, heck. we even got it from taejin, but moohak so far is cheap, money lover and illiterate. his lack of formal education is used in every step. we still haven't seen how is he handling business? oh, yes, he does know about pigs, but what else? i struggle to describe him, because nothing else comes to mind.

Drama is just started only 4eps have been out and you are expecting character development at this stage. If he…
never said character development has to happen in earlier episodes. do reread my comment again. what i'm saying is that the character has to be given some depth if he's portrayed in such a shallow way, for now, anyway. they gave dali that, so even if she shows some flaws, we'll understand that she's more than that.
On Dali & Cocky Prince Oct 1, 2021
so far, i don't really find jin moo hak charming or likeable. i guess, writers took toxic relationship with money due to poverty in a literal sense and ran marathons with it. we haven't seen his knowledge regarding business, either - the only thing i remember is him screaming in different situations. i guess, his character can be unpacked and given depth in later episodes, but the thing is, it should be done in earlier episodes, at least partially, because the viewever has to decide whether they want to continue or not.

I think it's likely that Gong Myung is playing Sejo's brother Anpyeong that was first exiled and then executed…
i do think it's anpyeong. he was well known for his calligraphy, as well as painting.

often enough, when it comes to including romance in a drama, writers go all or nothing. romance either takes up a good portion of the screentime, or isn't included at all (thrillers, mostly). i hope this won't be the case here, because dynamic between ji hyuk and je yi would be really interesting to see.

after i played between the bars by elliot smith after her death (the one soohyun played for gaon), i found her character beautiful. i feel like soohyun was gaon's moral compass, what kept him from descending into darkness.his "light side" so to say. she wasn't a perfect cop, but her dedication for gaon - that i find painful. she joined police force because of him, tried to protect him, tried to grasp him, but even at the end, she never truly did.

there were two closest people alongside gaon: min jungho and soohyun. the ones that kept him in light. after losing her, him believing jungho is the final reach to what he had prior to all of this. min jungho threw rookie judge in this madness and over the next months, all came crashing down on him: his belief in law, his sanity, soohyun. he's battling with himself and also all of them because this maddening war is nothing he was prepared for.

and finally, i don't think us not knowing truth about what happened in the church is a plot hole, just a necessity. a final revelation.
On The Devil Judge Aug 11, 2021
some people said that not everything has to be bl, that it's just a bromance, etc. etc. but the thing is, not everything has to be a bromance either. if gaon was a girl, half of this conversations about their relationship simply wouldn't happen. even if him looking like isaac were still the case.
On The Devil Judge Aug 1, 2021
when gaon threw a knife that yohan gave him, i feel like he was finally liberated from the grasp the past had on him. he felt like he was held back by soohyun, by jungho and his own position and, thus, repressed it, but when he held a knife again and had a chance to finally kill him, he made a choice by his own will.
On The Devil Judge Jul 26, 2021
why do none of the businessmen and kyung hee and the president look shocked at seeing gaon's face, as we know he is isaac's doppelganger? i don't remember any of them questioning this. no one mentions whom he looks like other than yohan himself and the nanny.

Title The Devil Judge Spoiler
there clearly is some homoromantic undertones between them, if they were a man and a woman, we'd be calling it romance by now. it just comes off as weird as gaon is a carbon copy of isaac. so, yeah, probably just queerbaiting.

i find this drama really interesting.
it does go on circles, from "love me" to "no one can love me", but it's coming from a place that is and should be understandable. myul mang is a destruction himself - whatever he touched withered, whatever he did caused pain to others. we saw his anguish and dread towards his own very being and the want to just stay still to stop all of it. there are/might be villains in this story, but the biggest battle myul mang is in is with himself - he's desperately trying to convince himself and dong kyung that he can't feel, eat, or sleep; showing his worst sides, expecting her to run away. and when she doesn't, he gives in for a bit, because he wants it too. always did. and then, yet again, he thwarts himself or is forced to look behind at what he's caused. it's a circle, because a simple realization won't do in this one.
