now that it has finally happened, i can say that i would've preferred if yeongrye ended up with junghyun. not only because it seems like he only made a move when he was about to "lose" her, but for the baggage as well - their relationship will never be free of the past, of jonghee; if they end up not being friends in the end, it will only serve as a reminder of partly what ruined the friendship that was dear to them both.

and even if i liked the idea of her ending up with jaepil, i don't understand the miss korea arc. that was jonghee's dream. genuinely, what's the point of all this?

jonghee is frozen in time. she hasn't moved on the past 7 years, hasn't made any new connections or done anything that was for herself and what she wanted. she's a replacement daughter for her stepmom and has surrendered her own self to appease her; has become an equestrian despite this not being her dream.

now that she seemingly doesn't have control over her own life and has come back into yeongrye's lives, she wants to take back the one thing she can, the one she "surrendered" and feels could belong to her - jaepil. he is more of a reminder for her of the happier times, i think, and that's why she still hasn't let him go. and part of the reason why she also wants him back is because the way she sees it, yeongrye's life is full and hers just isn't. she may subconsciously not want her to have him and finally have her become what she herself could never be. i don't find her a villain, just sad. i hope she chooses herself too.

in the poster for second half, the only one out of the three that's looking ahead is yeongrye. i think after the time skip the story's about yeongrye choosing first herself and then the one that chooses her. i hope that's what she does anyway.

I don’t think there would have been anything interesting in the story if it went so smoothly
not saying it should all go smoothly, there's more than one conflict that can exist within a story that doesn't necessarily involve breaking up a friendship over a guy.

I don't find jaepil to be necessary for the story at all. jonghee could've been with yeongsik and yeongrye with either junghyun or sangcheol, all would've been perfectly fine without the unnecessary stress lol.

This drama used cliches and used it well, not as something to fill the episodes, but to convey emotions. QOT, I find, is about emotions above all: love between partners, parents and their children, the damage from lack thereof; greef, loyalty, greed. That is why I find it quite irrelevant and, simply, uninteresting to hear about takes on technical details of the story, whether memory loss or any other events were necessary or not. It does not matter. It was simply a nice, bittersweet story about relationships and that's that.

Title See You in My 19th Life Spoiler
they're pulling the plot in too many directions without properly flashing out any of them, while it's not even as long as it needs to be. jieum has lived 19 lives and short flashbacks and some conventional skills don't do that justice. up until juwon, we don't even see her get emotionally desensitized to things that happened in her past lives, so i don't think it makes sense that it doesn't have more significance with her current life.

i understand what type of drama this is supposed to be, but it's not giving anything for me to hang on. there's so many ways classic romcoms can be executed in an entertained way without losing complexity. the premise is interesting - one worked hard for her position, the other got it handed to him and they have to work through their differences. but it doesn't live up to be anything. love line is not believable, more than several circumstances are laughable, the writer fails to give any of her characters any depth that doesn't play into cliches. and with guwon's character, she doesn't bother at all. it always frustrates me when once romance starts, being in love becomes sole personality trait of the character.

the potential is underutilized, especially junho's. his acting is the only good thing about this.
On Lies Hidden in My Garden Jun 21, 2023
to me, it's a good use of show don't tell. narrative is created more by actions than words, story is told without actually speaking about it. it's new in dramas, since screenwriters tend to rely on dialogues a lot to tell a story.

i like geonhu's character. he's honest, calm, simple-minded, caring. at no point did jealousy or his feelings for hae-e turn him malicious. and nuances of his personality really came through in today's episode.

i don't know if they'll end up together, although i hope they will, but i really enjoyed him on-screen.

1) What is Ji Dong Hees motive? Obsession? 2) How did the ink get on Nam Hae Yis palm? It didn't look like they…
2) hae-e freed herself using that pen when she was taped up.

i think the eventual appearance of hae-e's biological mother was necessary to finally and truly define what their relationship is. for the past few episodes hae-e has been distancing herself from haengson as her daughter, calling her auntie. this will finally push them to have the conversation where they determine that you don't have to necessarily give birth to someone to fill in mother's role. haengson is hae-e's mother, nothing can change that.
i think he'll fall for her first before he learns she's naksu. this show is about souls and, thus, connection between them is important above all else. uk loves her soul, not her name, and that stayed the same. it'll be a proof that the love between them transcends memories or identity, because even if they don't know their heart does. and before he finds out yeong won't replace and make him forget, rather - she'll soothe, start coexisting with his past. all that before the truth comes out, of course. that's what i think, anyway.

physician kwon, ikhyeon, is not justified in killing the crown prince, but is justified in his anger. he witnessed his family get destroyed one by one, starting from the murder of the crown prince taein, followed by deposition of his mother and all of his brothers getting killed one by one; having to hide all his life to survive.

you could say that lee ho is a wise king, the one that truly cares about his people, but his throne and his robe is drenched in blood of his own brothers and in tears of deposed queen yoon, that's why he never has and never will feel safe and secure in his position. he became king by closing the door while queen dowager and others were killing the crown prince taein and remained one by desperately hiding the truth. he did get a taste of same bitterness, though, when his own son died the exact same way.
