the drown scene is just jaewon’s dream that night. he dreamt of it as he’s too scared of losing someone he loves again. so next morning while jihyun is asleep, he went to surf alone and rethinking his decision of going out with jihyun. later they drive back to college as we see in trailer, jaewon act as usual to jihyun. but after those days, i think jaewon will try to push jihyun away, either because he think he will bring bad luck to jihyun as in those dream, or he’s just too scared of losing jihyun. so to push jihyun away, he will pretend to get back with the ex girlfriend. but in the end they will be together because people said the movie version has happy ending.
