the first half of this series was literally perfect for me. as we got closer to the end, i was getting a lil overwhelmed bc the focus shifted too much to he yao and his experiment. it’s so sad that there’s only one ep left when this episode finally brought back the same vibe the series had in the first half. a lie finally made lin zai feel like he was more than just a test subject. everything a lie said to lin zai was so beautiful and romantic 🥹now a lie has both the organization and he yao against him. there’s only one ep left and i’m kinda worried abt how they’re gonna wrap everything up in such a short time. but maybe they have plans for s2, idk
I couldnt care less about the NC scenes when rating. The story, the acting and cinematography are way better than…
It’s not just the kissing and NC scenes that are terrible in this drama; most of the scenes make me feel like I’m watching a vertical drama. The story might sound good on paper, but the execution is poor and the transitions between scenes feel very amateurish. As for the acting, the actor playing Shen Mo does a good job and definitely has potential. I hope he gets the chance to work with a really good director in the future. I’d love to see him in a quality production someday. Lastly, there are much better dramas that came out this year; maybe you just haven’t come across them.
Everything about this drama is terrible! I genuinely don’t understand how it has such a high rating. I don’t mind clichés, but I really hate how they were handled in this drama. And don’t even get me started on the kissing scenes… HOW are two people this lifeless when they kiss? I’ve genuinely never seen two people kiss with less chemistry. They look like two lifeless objects just bumping into each other. And that two-second sex scene in episode 11??? It was SO embarrassing. Like, what was even the point of that scene?
He's mad at him for bringing him to whatever is waiting for him regarding experiments at all but at the same time…
Like seriously, do you really expect Lin Zai not to be mad or disappointed that the guy he has feelings for and was pretty much in a relationship with, who also told Lin Zai that he loved him, is trying to take Lin Zai to some organization where he has no idea what’s gonna happen to him? u cannot be serious! If someone you’re in a relationship with tried to take you somewhere dangerous, wouldn’t you question how they actually feel about you and feel betrayed/disappointed? Be fr. A Lie never explained anything to Lin Zai about the organization he works for. He doesn’t even know how the experiments work or what they’re actually for, yet you expect Lin Zai to just blindly follow him without questioning anything. Meanwhile, on the other side, there’s a scientist in a place he knows and that’s relatively safe, claiming that he can turn his brother back into a human, while backing it up with all these scientific terms. Ofc he’d rather stay where he is than go into the unknown, especially when there’s even the slightest hope that he can save his brother. That makes way more sense.
You're right here and all those blaming Lin Zai would've done the exact same thing if they were in his shoes
I genuinely think the ppl criticizing Lin Zai’s behavior were scrolling through TikTok while the show was playing in the background lol. Bc on one side, there’s a scientist claiming he can turn his brother back into a human, and on the other, there’s A Lie, who can’t answer a single question he asks. Why would he hand himself over to an organization when he has a chance to save his brother, esp when he doesn’t even know what that organization is working toward? On top of that, A Lie and Lin Zai’s relationship has never been smooth or built on trust. Ppl are talking as if they met under completely normal circumstances, as if A Lie didn’t literally kidnap Lin Zai and drag him into a mess he never wanted to be part of. Ik A Lie has definitely had character development, and ik he’d protect Lin Zai with his life. But he still clearly doesn’t understand what Lin Zai is feeling. He can’t answer his questions or ease his concerns. Given all that, it’s completely understandable for Lin Zai to feel overwhelmed and confused. Tbh, if Lin Zai hadn’t questioned A Lie at all and had just left his brother and the ppl he considers family behind without a second thought just to go with A Lie, that would’ve been completely unrealistic. That kind of decision would’ve made me lose interest in the show.
“If I come with you, will I die?” — no answer. “Did you ever think about giving up your mission for me?” — no answer. The man who says he loves him doesn’t answer a single one of his important questions, yet somehow you’re criticizing Lin Zai for being “naive, dumb, and easy to fool.” 😂
If I go with you, will I die?” and A Lie never gave him a clear answer.Because he doesn't know the answer. But…
The fact that, while Lin Zai was living in a relatively safe place with people he considered family in the middle of the zombie outbreak , the stranger whose life he had saved kidnapped him and telling him, “You’re immune. I’m taking you to my organization. They’re going to run some experiments on you,” obviously affected his lack of motivation to get involved in all of this. If A Lie had told Lin Zai everything openly instead of kidnapping him, I think Lin Zai would have willingly gone with him. Besides, even A Lie himself doesn’t know what these experiments are for or how the whole process works. So A Lie can’t really give Lin Zai a scientific explanation. He Yao, on the other hand, uses a lot of scientific terminology when he talks, which naturally makes him seem more trustworthy to Lin Zai when it comes to the experiments. btw I watched Dororo :))
Okay but like half these zombies, including Lin Zai's brother, theoretically wouldn't benefit from the experiments…
I put myself in Lin Zai’s situation. if I lost someone close to me in the middle of an apocalypse, only to see them again at the most unexpected moment, and then a scientist who claimed to be working on zombies told me that he could turn them back into a human, I would cling to that hope with everything I had. In some situations, it’s completely understandable for a person’s rational thinking to shut down.
If I go with you, will I die?” and A Lie never gave him a clear answer.Because he doesn't know the answer. But…
But that doesn’t change the fact that A Lie was trying to take Lin Zai to a place full of armed, trained soldiers, knowing full well that experiments would be conducted on Lin Zai’s body. I do feel that A Lie is sincere about his feelings, but at this point, rather than criticizing Lin Zai for his actions, I think it makes more sense to criticize A Lie for still trying to take Lin Zai to that organization after everything that happened between them, especially when he didn’t even know what would happen to Lin Zai once he got there.
I genuinely can’t believe the comments harshly criticizing Lin Zai’s behavior. Are we even watching the same show? Yeah, I feel bad for A Lie too, but I think Lin Zai has valid reasons for acting the way he does. A Lie took Lin Zai away from the people he considered his family and tried to take him to a place he knew nothing about, even though he knew that experiments would be performed on his body. Even while their relationship was developing in a positive way, Lin Zai asked A Lie multiple times, “If I go with you, will I die?” and A Lie never gave him a clear answer. Now he’s found the brother he thought he had lost, and a scientist has given him hope that his brother might be able to become human again. Meanwhile, A Lie firmly believes that zombies can’t become human again. So what exactly do you expect Lin Zai to do in this situation? Lin Zai knows that if he goes with A Lie, experiments will be performed on his body. Choosing to stay somewhere he believes there’s still hope for his brother, instead of going with A Lie, and trusting He Yao is completely understandable.
ahhh THIS is how you do an intimacy scene. they captured the passion between these two young men slowly falling…
and the fact that there hasn’t been a SINGLE cringe scene this many episodes in. i’m watching an asian bl and there’s genuinely not a single cringe scene?? THIS is another reason why i love this show so much <3
ahhh THIS is how you do an intimacy scene. they captured the passion between these two young men slowly falling for each other in the middle of a zombie outbreak SO well. i already really like both actors, but their facial expressions during the nc scene were on another level. i’ve seen way too many actors look visibly nervous in scenes like this and completely kill the mood, but they were incredible. and honestly, i couldn’t care less about the criticism this show is getting for using AI. i’m so satisfied with everything so far — the plot, the dynamic between the leads, the romance, the drama, the acting... all of it. i haven’t come across any insanely obvious flaws in the writing either. like, how many bls are there that actually give us all of this? everyone who worked on this show deserves their flowers because they genuinely did an amazing job.
I expected their first time to be more romantic, but this scene was far from being both romantic and realistic. The dream scenes were actually so much better, so maybe that’s why my expectations were too high, but this was such a disappointment. And honestly, watching Cha Do Hyeon makes me uncomfortable. I haven’t been able to like his character from the start. Meanwhile, I really love Yeo Eun Ho. He’s definitely the reason I’ve kept watching this far.
August tried to convey a lot of emotions specially with his eyes (even though he looked uncomfortable in the kissing…
The performances of actors playing opposite each other can directly affect one another; one can either elevate the other’s performance or bring it down. That’s why it’s important for actors with similar levels of acting ability to be paired together.
You're right. even two episodes together is still to short. We're watching like 2-3 scenes and it's done! Noooo…
Yeah, the two episodes combined aren’t even 40 minutes long. But maybe that’s part of the charm. At least they’re not trying to shove a bunch of unnecessary scenes down our throats like most Asian BLs do. Still, the chemistry between these two is just so good that I can’t help wanting to see more scenes with them together. 😭😭
The only bad thing about this show is how ridiculously short the episodes are 😭 I wish the episodes were at least 2 hours long. I genuinely haven’t seen a couple this perfect for each other in SO long. Watching these two together is an absolute joy, I could watch them forever.
I had zero expectations for the finale, and it still managed to shock me. I couldn't agree more about the acting!!…
You explained the inconsistencies and plot holes in the script so well, I 100% agree with you.
Unfortunately, for some BL fans, as long as their fave is in the show, it doesn’t matter how bad the actual series is. They’ll hype up even the absolute worst show ever like it’s some kind of masterpiece.
The fact that the actors couldn’t convey even a tiny bit of emotion in the finale genuinely bothered me. Like yeah, the script was shit, but the actors didn’t rlly help either 😭. There are tons of Thai BLs with completely pointless, empty plots, but I think this was honestly one of the worst bc there was literally ZERO romantic chemistry between the leads. So I really don’t agree with the whole “it was such a good show overall, the ending just sucked” take. The problems were there from the very beginning, both with the writing AND the acting imo. The finale just made all of them way more obvious.
It wasn’t the worst intimate scene I’ve ever seen, but it definitely wasn’t good either. Most viewers weren’t complaining about the leads not having an NC scene until now; the criticism was that the show never properly conveyed the romantic chemistry between them. You spend 8 episodes giving us absolutely no sense that these two genuinely love each other or are sexually attracted to each other, and then suddenly throw in an intimate scene in episode 9 and expect that to make everyone happy. 😂 And even in the scene itself, I just didn’t feel any real passion or that they were genuinely desperate for each other. You could see how nervous both actors were, and they conveyed that nervousness way too much, which honestly made the scene even more uncomfortable to watch. The relationships between the other couples in the drama are weird as hell too. At this point, this might genuinely be one of the worst written, worst directed, and worst acted dramas I’ve watched in a long time.

if anyone here lacks media literacy, it’s the writers and director of this show 💀
