i totally agree with this comment and it wouldn't surprise me if that was what they were doing here. i find in most BL the characters are either gay, straight, or they fall into the "gay for other main character" category. it's just yet another harmful BL stereotype that we all just kinda let slide a little because of the parts we enjoy and because (i guess) progress is progress and i think a lot of BLs are becoming less problematic as time passes.
i kinda hope that what's happening here is simply that Aoki is young and hasn't truly liked anyone before Ida. perhaps he thought he was in love in a kinda romanticised way because he thought he was "supposed" to fall in love with a girl, like he's mentioned in one of the episodes, but when he started to develop feelings for Ida he realised that's what it means to truly like someone. that would explain how he just kinda brushes his feelings for her off in a comedic way. but this is most likely just the head canon i'm going to go forward with to make it less painful to watch.
i also haven't read the manga so can't comment on how true to that this drama is!
i watched this on youtube and just skipped through 90% of it. most of the characters and plots were so painful and uncomfortable to watch that i couldnt even force myself through them. HOW do people consider this a 10/10!?
i totally agree i'm sick of falling for it and thinking something will happen next week, only for them to dance around each other for another episode. all of this build up will be disappointing for one love confession and kiss before the ending credits. makes you feel like you wasted your time.
