I love loud, brash women who are slightly insane and city slicker in rural setting/fish out of water comedy dramas so I'm seated. I hope we see more of Sunnyeo the magpie. Damn I kinda wish I had a pet attack magpie now
This is the sleeper hit of the year for me. Every other popular drama this year has been an expected hit in some way, but I didn't even clock this drama when the promos were coming out. When I first saw the poster, I thought it would be too silly and childish. I'm so glad I took a chance and pressed play on episode one. Yes, it was light-hearted and silly sometimes, but in the absolute best way. But it also took itself seriously when it need to. I fell in love with every character and all the relationships and friendships and I never for a second felt bored. I just found out this is the writer's debut work. Huge congratulations to her and I look forward to her future dramas, which I will consider must watches after this. This is a solid 10/10 for me and my favourite drama of the year ❤️
From this show I can see that Lin Geng Xin is a great actor, so why doesn't he has any upcoming dramas?
I remember reading a few weeks ago that he was applying to the Shanghai Theatre Academy doctoral program to get a PhD in drama and film performance arts so that may be why
Just finished and all I can really say is wow. Just wow. This may have ruined the entire xianxia genre for me. I fear that in ten years I'll be watching the new popular xianxia and I'll be commenting on here like "yeah it's good but it's no Legend of Sheng Li." Truly both the fl and ml felt so much like real people despite the fantasy nature of the drama. They made it so easy to care about them and just get lost in their story. And maybe it's a reflection of me getting older, but I was so glad to have leads that were in their late 30s and acted mature and responsible. I could gush for hours about this drama probably, but I'll just sum it up to say, to me, this is a true gem of not just xianxia but of the high fantasy genre as a whole regardless of country of origin.
My attention span is so poor I typically struggle with finishing longer dramas, but there was zero struggle finishing this. I found the story engaging and it didn't feel draggy at any point to me and the acting from the entire cast was top notch with phenomenal chemistry from the leads. I had no issue at all keeping my attention on this. In fact it was a struggle pausing it and I looked forward to when I could watch more. My only issue was how rushed the ending felt, but it didn't change how much I enjoyed this drama 🥰
I've been dropping dramas left and right lately and when this first started airing I thought for sure this would be one that I'd end up dropping, but nope! Still here, and glad for it. It just keeps getting better and better 😁
Thoroughly enjoyed this. It's light and fun and, yeah sure, a little silly in a charming way. But it was well paced and never boring with a superb cast and a good amount of heart.
