i’m at a complete loss for words. i truly have no idea where to begin. i have no way to express how i feel after this flawless, life-changing masterpiece😭😭😭 this has been such an epic, exhilarating, romantic, passionate, heart-shattering, ground-breaking journey. the masterclass levels of acting and story-telling truly changed the trajectory of my life. THIS is tragic love at its finest. THIS is what i am TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!

they are so much more than soulmates, this is truly something so beyond and just so poetic. there are no words for me to properly express the overwhelming emotions i feel.
every episode was gradually more awe-strikingly incredible bit by bit until i was all-consumed and completely lost in this fascinating world. everything about ling buyi and shaoshang was beyond perfect to me. from the moment they first met to the very end, i felt as if i myself was falling in love for the first time and experiencing everything as well. that is how outer-worldly their love story was and how utterly impactful it was to witness. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE SCORE!!!!!!! actually shattered my heart into a million pieces every time i heard it. i didnt think it was possible for a drama to reach this level of perfection. every minute, every second. THIS is my defitinion of angst.
so many scenes shocked me for so long i couldn’t even talk like i genuinely FROZE in my seat, heart pounding.
leo wu’s acting………….zhao lusi’s acting…… VERY FEW HAVE COME CLOSE TO WHAT THEY MADE ME FEEEEEEEL😭😭
in some scenes you just know what they are thinking, what they want to say even if they don’t say it . THAT’S HOW GOOD THE ACTING IS.
this drama means so much to me.
i cannot even begin to get started on the cinematography😭😭 insanely and breath-takingly outstanding, especially in my favorite scenes in the last few episodes. the script, the entire plot, the acting of our main characters, AGAIN THE SCORE/ OST, THE COSTUMES, THE SET.
the scene of ling buyi getting his revenge 2 days before their wedding, shaoshang showing up in her red dress, HER GIVING UP EVERYTHING FOR HIM, THE MUSIC SCORE IN THAT SCENE, THE ACTING, THE AGONY, THE WRITING !!?!
the inexplainable feelings and absolute pain i feel in my chest every time i re-watch that scene is actually mental. WHEN HE JUMPED OFF THAT CLIFF ??? genuinely the best piece of CINEMA i have ever watched. i felt actual pain in my chest and loss of breath while watching this.
this is insanee. episodes 48 and 49 actually changed me as a person i am so so serious.
this was LITERALLY A LOVE SO BIG AND INFINITE LIKE THE GALAXY😭😭😭
it was the best ending, SUCH A DESERVED ENDING!!!ling buyi’s vengeance scene is actually for the history books- THE DIRECTING, THE CINEMATOGRAPHY, THE SCORE, THE AAAACTINGGGGG. this drama had the absolute perfect buildup, everything was so incredibly well executed and it genuinely felt like it was the gift that kept on giving— every bit was better and better until it felt like an explosion of EXCELLENCY. they make you yearn for our couple to be together or just look at each other.
their relationship could not have been developed or paced better; the details within every encounter between them is the most precious, heart-fluttering thing. they were just so romantic and PASSIONATE AND DEVOTED AND TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL they changed each other’s lives and became each other’s lives, so much so that living was not living without one another😭😭😭😭😭 AND THE SCORE/OST IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER HEARD. this is story-telling excellency; this is the true art of cinema: characterization, dialogue, tragedy, love, revenge, forgiveness—everything that makes up the complexities of life all depicted in film, making it possible to feel it all at once. this is exactly why these art forms of acting, set-making, directing, script writing, costuming, cinematography, score composing, etc exist; for the sole purpose of creating something so overwhelmingly raw, all-consuming and un-bearingly gorgeous and intimate like this piece of perfection. they were not just each other’s destiny, they were also their decisions; their own written fate. they willingly fought for one another, willingly gave everything up and wholeheartedly yearned for each other until becoming one at last.
