I watched this drama without knowing anything so until the end I kept on hoping Yang would somehow end up with Wang Yu and help Goryeo prosper. I was really heartbroken with what happened in the end with Wang Yu and Prince Maha (their son). I imagined Maha becoming Goryeo's crown prince and Ayu as Yuan's crown prince. (Or at least, Maha got to know who his parents are.)
For me, the Emperor did NOT deserve Yang. Wang Yu literally gave up everything for Yang. He did MORE for the people of Yuan than the Emperor did [The Emperor literally did nothing worthy during his throne except for getting back at Yeoncheol]. Wang Yu also helped Yuan more than his own country, Goryeo. He made it seem like he did those things to get his throne back but in reality, it was all to help or save Yang in the Palace.
I cried a river when Wang Yu died but I did not even shed a tear when the Emperor died. The Emperor's sacrifice in the end did not even move me. Why? Because he was about to die anyway!!! It's not like he risked his life, he was already dying and there was NO CURE so that was the best he could do.
Still, I felt bad for Ta Hwan because, in the end, he did not have any Yuan loyal subject except for Baekan and Taltal. The people who have truly helped and served the Emperor were actually from Goryeo, but mainly because they were loyal to Yang and Wang Yu, not the Emperor himself.
Also, Wang Yu would have NEVER endangered Yang by revealing their secret and yet the Emperor chose to kill him, in a surprise ambush at that. It was not even a fair fight. Jealousy or not, he should have known and done better. That was his worst decision so I hated him even more.
But then again, this was all for Yang to become an Empress. This was the path she took and this was her fate. Wang Yu knew that and he respected it.
aww yall are so harsh on this, but i managed to watch this in just 2 days!!! the cast was more than enough for me.. i enjoyed the little plot twists and developments too (yah, 40 eps is a bit much but i still enjoyed it!!)
Completely different ~I'm not a robot was very cheesy and just...I had a hard time finishing it which was actually…
that's kinda true! i liked i am not a robot because it was a really light drama but in terms of substance, it was kinda lacking :< HOPE I ENJOY THIS DRAMA THEN!
Not a drama but The Silenced/Crucible is a Korean movie which is also based from true events! It's about school master pedophiles taking advantage over their disabled (deaf and mute) students. Uggh it's been a while but the chills and goosebumps still remain.
Do people really intentionally get into asian dramas? I always got the feeling that we all got curious about something…
But how did your sister know about Dream High? It's probably because it's popular or high rated, or maybe someone recommended it to her. There may be "no dramas for beginners" but still, this list is just one of the many that may help people who are new to the world of Asian Dramas.
I feel like this list is overly recent for someone who's a beginner.
I think that's the point. For beginners, they have to watch the most recent ones first bc they are "better"(?) in terms of visual quality, effects, etc. And when they're finally hooked to Kdramas, they can start watching the iconic and legendary dramas we're all talking about. I hope you get what I mean xD
this list is really up-to-date and is a great recommendation; however, as much as I love JCW and K2, i think it's a pretty serious and heavy drama for beginners so I'd suggest, You Who Came from the Stars probably?
Flipping Cow, I hate the ending of this drama, (Spoiler alert) The female lead has a daughter with another prince…
I think you misunderstood the ending. It was not explicitly stated in the drama but it can be safely assumed that the female lead's child was actually the main lead's child (Wang So). Hae Soo and Prince Jung's marriage was just for formality. Hae Soo was already pregnant before she left the palace. That is why Hae Soo's last wish was for her daughter to be as far away from the palace as possible (because she knows the struggles her child will face if they find out that she's Wang So's daughter). In the end, I think Wang So also realized it. (that's why he asked Prince Jung how old is the child)
