I finished this yesterday and I must say, a complete masterpiece. This show may not be for everyone. It's a bit intense at times but so heartwarming at the same time. I haven't cried over a kdrama like this one in a while.
I watched the first episode of this drama a couple months ago and stopped midway cause of how creepy it was. But I picked it up again just yesterday and I couldn't stop watching until the very end. It really had me on the edge of my seat. It made me mad, frustrated, and utterly disturbed countless times, but I still kept going because the suspense really got to me. I kept going because I really wanted to see Sang Mi get out of there, as well as have the disgusting pastor punished. I'm just disappointed that he died so easily, where instead he should've been tortured for all that he's done. Another disappointment would be the father, which I pretty much lost hope in midway. I seriously loathe him and don't care for him at all.
However, it seems that there are a lot of people who dislike the drama for either being too dark, or too unrealistic. Although for me, I believe half of the things that occur in this show does happen in real life. Religion cults are alive and well up until today, and there's so many of them. Just knowing that alone, is what made watching this drama a lot scarier.
(Note: I am very well aware that this is a fiction drama and not everything that happens in it is entirely true nor realistic.)
I was going to give this drama an 8.5, but I decided to give an extra point for all the emotions that it captures. The cast, especially Sang Mi and Dong Cheol, were amazing (imo).
Second that! I'm surprised with all the positive reviews. This drama is not worth spending time on.
I personally believe people have the right to like or dislike any drama. You might not have liked it, but others have. We all have different tastes after all, so it's a bit rude to say people are wasting their time. Just saying. :)
Ya'll, you know the scene with the dad talking to the criminal through the glass. The rapist pretends not…
Of course that's all what we all wanted... but it makes a lot more sense why it went the way it did since this is based on a true story. The actual criminal portrayed in the movie is coming out of prison in 2020...

I was thinking that too!!! I got so frustrated because that could have gone in as evidence. But I guess it wasn't. I actually don't think conversations in that room get recorded as I've never seen that happen, unless the visitor has something to record with... but he didn't.
Um just started watching it but why tf are they glorifying the 'murderer' as some kind of national celebrity/hero?????????
Oh I did! I only replied after finishing the movie haha. I know right, I honestly was waiting for at least one female character who isn't so head over heels over a murderer because of his handsome face. Unfortunately there weren't any.

Exactly what I was thinking. What's there to admire about him? I was honestly sickened at most of the women drooling over him especially while knowing he's a criminal and whatnot.
Does anyone know what body part they found at Fantasia, everything gets censored so idk what they are looking…
It was Gyu Ah's eyeball. The quote from the bible says "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains."
Although there were so many things exaggerated and over dramatized, some things I find unbelievable especially…
There was a scene that showed them studying how to do this and that and they prepared everything so I'm not quite surprised about them knowing the details...?

I would give it 7.8/10. The movie is nice to watch for whenever someone is bored. It was less frightening than I was anticipating for it to be, but not in a bad way. I don't think I would want to go back and rewatch unless it's for the funny scenes. I liked the blending of comedy and horror, but it still felt lacking. Other than that, fun to watch - at least once. The characters are were entertaining and cute as well.

Which kinda symbolizes the eyeball.
