A king, whose family is being picked off one by one by the Spirit of the Lake, summons a young shaman. He is joined by the king's daughter, who possesses the gift of hearing the voices of spirits.
In a *Stranger Things*-esque twist, the shaman enters the lake to reach a parallel underworld (a mirror realm); he battles spirits there, returning each time increasingly weakened.
The resentment of the slain spreads, tethering the spirit to the mortal realm and fueling its vengeful nature.
Yet, the deaths are largely caused by human poisoning.
A complex plot involving poisonings and misdeeds committed by fathers, mothers, grandmothers, and children—princes and concubines alike.
Top-notch acting. These are far from easy roles.
