does anyone know if the uncut ver of ep 1 on IQUIYI is any different from the YT version? are there any extra or extended scenes there that aren't in the YT version or...?
Your analysis on the timeline of each episode has blown me! The fact that everything actually makes sense? From…
aw, thank you!! it was no problem at all on my part, I really like trying to make sense of things like this and have made timelines for quite a few of the shows I like haha
Some pre-info:-Term 1 in Thailand: early May - early October (HWMA 2019 live audition was held end of September)-3…
^I was bored and tried making a timeline of the show, figured I'd post it in case there's some other person out there aside from me that would find it interesting lmao
Some pre-info: -Term 1 in Thailand: early May - early October (HWMA 2019 live audition was held end of September) -3 week term break! -Term 2 in Thailand: late October - late February (HWMA is held Nov. 25 according to the show!!)
EP 1: 2 ish weeks (1st week has the presidental candidate week, and the following week is the deadline for Chinzhilla to win a competition) ends mid May? EP 2: takes place immediately following ep 1, and it probably takes 1-2 weeks to gather all the instruments back. ends end of May? EP 3: starts either a few days or a week later, and takes place during the course of like 1.5 weeks, maybe 2? (a few days before + after the week of studying) ends mid June? EP 4: might be like a week later, Sound’s character transferring soon after the some exams but not immediately after would make sense. and probably takes place during 2 ish weeks since Gun says “the School Activity Fair is next week” before quitting the club. ends early July? EP 5: could probably be like 2 weeks later maybe? so Sound has had some time to settle in. takes place during the course of 1.5-2 weeks. ends end of July? EP 6: probably starts right after, since they’re now officially in the competition and have to choose a song. planning and filming probably happens during the course of like 1 school week, then there is a 1 week time-jump for when the mv is done. ends mid August? EP 7: probably starts like, the following week or something after ep 6 ended and flirting probably happens during the course of like a few days, and then they’re going to the aquarium “on Saturday” probably that same week, and then maybe they’re performing for Nook like a week later? so probably takes course during 2-2.5 weeks… ends late August? EP 8: probably starts after a bit of a time-jump where they’ve been practicing a lot, leading to other clubs complaining. takes place during the course of a week I’d say. HWMA 2019 live audition was held end of September, so I’d say it’s fair to guess it’s end of September. Tinn’s mom also asks him if he’s studied for his direct admissions exams “next month”, which is probably the end of term semester or the start of the 2nd semester, I guess? so maybe this ends late September? EP 9: term break!! starts (thanks to Tinn telling us) almost 14 days after the 1st term ends, which might be a week or so after ep 8 ends. Gun says that “next week” he’ll be going to the beach place, so he’s probably there for, idk, maybe 3-5 days at the beach? next ep still has 5 days left of the term break, so it was probably a 2-night, 3-day trip to the beach. ends October 24th? EP 10: Gun is shown to be writing the song during 25-29th October, and then term 2 starts “in 2 days” (Monday October 31st I guess). then it’s start of term, and it’s that same day Tinn finds out about Gun’s mom being sick. the hospital confrontation then happens “more than a week” later, so towards the end of week 2 of the new term. then there’s 2 weeks of them fixing the song and arranging it etc., the actual competition is then held on November 25! EP 11: according to google, most brain surgeries (at least in like US/UK) has patients staying in the hospital for no more than 2 weeks afterward, so that’s the time period during which the majority of this episode happens. so probably ends mid December? EP 12: starts immediately after ep 11, but then there’s probably a pretty long time skip shown by Tinn and Gun just being happy in a relationship with each other before the prom day then being held in early February maybe? it would be toward the end of the school year right, and graduation would be late February. Gun probably goes to Tinn’s house a few days after graduation.
while I don't think attraction has to have any sort of logic behind it in the least (I mean look at how many people…
haha no worries at all! I do really like the series, and as someone that's quite interested in film making in general I always tend to pay attention to details and stuff whenever I watch something - in my opinion I gave a quite vague answer lmao but as I said, we'll know Wen's feelings a little better with some time (these 2 episodes that have come out since I wrote that response has added some more info already, and I'm sure next week will provide even more)
I’m loving this series so far - it’s such a refreshing change of setting and tone. However, I’m four episodes…
while I don't think attraction has to have any sort of logic behind it in the least (I mean look at how many people there are in the world that suffer due to who they have feelings for... it's not something you choose, it just happens), I do think that Jim has a lot of what Wen is looking for in someone and in life itself. he's physically attractive, sure, but with some time he's also seen how Jim cares for the people around him (fixing Praew's dowry for Leng, how he genuinly cares for Li Ming but has difficulty showing it in the right way, keeping the prices the same even when others raise them, how he treated Wen himself when he was just a drunk stranger, etc.). despite the money issues, Jim has a quite stable life with genuine connections all around him... there are a lot of reasons as to why Wen might like him as much as he does, and that's not even going into the differences Jim might have from Alan and that whole relationship since we don't know much about it yet, but maybe Jim has what Wen felt was lacking there? who knows. but Wen has said that he's looking to feel at home with someone, and maybe he's seen the life Jim leads as one he really wants to be a part of, and it doesn't really have to be more complicated than that.
i have a question. is the youtube version cut? i keep waiting for it to come on dramacool but if its all the same…
not sure what you mean by cut. the episodes are divided into 4 parts, if that was what you wondered? there aren't any deleted scenes or extended versions behind a paywall or anything like that if that was what you meant, it's all there for free on youtube
I know there have been some comments in the past week or so clearing up the time passing by designating a month per episode: 1-Sept, 2-Oct, 3-Nov, 4-Dec. It intrigued me and made me want to make a more precise timeline, which I've now done and thought I could share here in case anyone else is interested (some dates and timeframes are specified in the series, others are guessed):
EP 1: September 10th - September 12th (10th: evening of Moon Festival, 11th: day after one-night-stand + alcohol bottle breaking, 12th: alcohol bottle confrontation + Jim accepts Wen as new worker) EP 2: Mid September - late September/early October. The ep starts out if not the day after Sept 12th, then no more than a few days later (September 10th is still referred to as "the other day" by Leng, and it's Wen's first day at diner + Li Ming's first night at Heart's house). The episode ends at a slightly ambiguous time, but it's probably late September/early October (2 ish weeks later) since Wen is putting up Halloween decorations in shops (which usually happens some time before the actual holiday), and Li Ming and Heart seem to have grown a little closer, what with Heart waiting for Li Ming to arrive and them being comfortable teasing each other. FIRST BIGGER TIME JUMP EP 3: November 8th - November 9th (the day before Loy Krathong, and the day of Loy Krathong). starts after a considerable time jump of like 5-6 weeks, which explains why ex. Li Ming has learnt a considerable amount of sign language, and why him and Heart seem a lot closer than in ep 2. EP 4: November 10th - December 24th: TIME JUMP WITHIN EPISODE. the episode starts the day after the previous one ended, as ex. Li Ming wears the same clothes and his and Jim's argument was about the night between the two episodes, and this same day ends with the birthday celebration. Then there is the time jump (6 weeks!!), which is probably shown mostly through Li Ming improving significantly with his sign language skills (now having learnt it for almost 3 months) as well as Alan going from being slightly suspicious to being really suspicious, and questioning Gong about Jim on Wen's insta story (probably after seeing him appear on there many times, not just once). Then before we know it, it's Christmas Eve, with Wen and Jim decorating the diner and Li Ming taking Heart to a mass for the deaf community.
For Praew's pregnancy, since she wasn't expecting to be pregnant, it could have taken her some time to actually realise it. So, although 3.5 months have passed in the series so far since ep 1, she's probably like 5 months pregnant at the end of ep 4, maybe even more. another possible clue on this: Leng mentions Praew having weird cravings in ep 1, which can happen at any point during the pregnancy but apparently earlier than like 6 weeks isn't very common, so it's possible that she's like 5-6 months pregnant.
Does anyone know if there is an option to buy the episodes on Vimeo and not just rent them? If not, will the cost for renting be the same for each episode or will it change?
I was about to watch this series, but all the bad comments are pushing me away. Can someone tell me if it really…
It really depends on who you ask, I've seen people praise this show to all ends: some really love it, some don't (me included). It's a very hit-or-miss show, it depends on what you like! That's why I would say it's worth giving it a shot: if you end up liking it, great! If you don't, you should be able to catch onto that fairly quickly and be able to drop it easily enough.
