one of the best dramas of 2019 'be melodramatic' had pathetic ratings in korea but it still received so much praise from critics and viewers. sometimes live trp isn't the most important element when it comes to how good a drama is.

i agree, i think the show does a pretty good job at not romanticising it, but the viewers are the problem. i noticed the same with itaewon class's jo yiseo. i guess people are so tired of doormat female leads that they think the exact opposite of it is empowering (?)
tbh 'fix you' wasn't that good a show and i probably would have dropped it if i were binging on it, but jung somin's disorder was treated as a disorder and not "omg look at this badass female lead smashing the cash of her cheating boyfriend".
