Is anyone else in the U.S. having trouble watching this? Usually all the BL series are available on the GMMTV YouTube channel but I can't seem to find this one listed :((
Omg I'm in the same boat! I just started watching this series, and right off the bat you can tell it's going to be big messy with the drunk sleeping around and the cheating. I don't feel like dramas need to be realistic (lol) - like if these were my friends irl I'd have a problem but on screen? Meh. I'm loving the drama and the chemistry between the leads. Thanks for your review, it made me feel so validated.
Anyway, just a theory. What if his father blocked his energy to protect him/or he was actually afraid of his power?…
I think you're right on both counts. I think he is the king's heir and that's why his father blocked his energy, so that the king couldn't use him for his powers. I also think that now that his gate is unlocked, there's going to a shift in politics because now he's a contender for the Gwanju title. Like maybe not just yet, but I can see that happening later in the show.
I love the symbolism of Black taking back his clothes and his ear rings from his brother. Is like saying him:…
SAME, I was thinking of the symbolism too. It's like the reverse from when White gets his tattoos and piercings and is basically entering Black's life. That scene also broke my heart cause you can tell that White just wants to be close to Black, and wants things to be good between Black and their mom, like my boy just wants his family :(
I also think that the man Dan killed was Sean's father. As soon as I saw that scene I was like yelp more drama is brewing. Yok's smiles though - heartstopping.
I like that Black still clearly loves White and is trying to protect him. The last thing I want is for both brothers to be on opposing sides, even though I can tell they might have fights and just a whole lotta tension because White is too entangled in the gang to let go.
Okay, is it just me or is Todd a little suspicious? At first I thought he was just the concerned best friend, but then in ep. 4, when he says Black's girlfriend could know something because she was close to Black, that made me think, "well, by that logic, Todd could know something too." I could be off the mark but I'm worried White will suspect everyone in the group one by one until finally BOOM it was Todd all along.
I've only read the first season of the webtoon, but La Ri Ma and Ma Ha were not friends there. Does that change later in the webtoon, or is that something the TV show added on its own? Because I am here for it
I completely agree with you. I just started watching this and I'm hooked! A part me can't wait for the next episode, but I am also glad I'm watching the show as it airs because every episode is packed with content and I'm glad I'll be taking my time to appreciate this drama instead of rushing through it. The mix of antiquity/modernity is great, especially in Lee Gon's world where there's a monarchy but you still have modern-day tech and progress. Every moment is shot so beautifully, too. I also love the dynamic between the main leads - there's all this bickering, but underneath is a genuine effort to understand the other person.
