the ml is the weakest part in this drama, i was actually glad it was more of a romcom, bec that was the drama's strong suit! it was hilarious & heartwarming, but not bec of the romance, but the family, friends, coworkers & theirs relationships!

people don't even know what a mary sue is anymore lol, her character was fine, but i would have preferred her to end up alone

for me it's a bl, bec even if it is not the main focus, the relationship between the main characters is very important & imo it's pretty clear that what they feel for each other goes way beyond a friendship.
also from other chinese dramas that i've seen so far, even straight couples are very tame & sometimes do not even kiss each other either. (the only thing missing here)

i can look past it, bec i love the characters & the story/message the drama conveys. i agree tho, bec that huge dog/monster wei ying was looked in with was cringeworthy lol, same with the xuanwu!

?? he was 6/7 years younger than his love interests in the 2 dramas before this one & now he is 6 years older, it's the same age difference??

but he fanxing does not own luming anything tho? she was blunt and honest from the beginning with him & that she sees them as friends & she only ever treated him as such; luming was the one who went into the relationship with sinister feelings, so in the end he only has himself to blame. & i say that as someone who really likes him lol.
same with yuan song, he went into the relationship knowing what to expect, was actually the one who broke the agreement (personally, i don't think she would have ever dated him without the 3 month trial in the first place), so he also has himself to blame as well.

personally i never felt that the second half was weaker, i actually preferred it, bec character & relationship development actually started to really happen. however i'm also someone who enjoyed all the sideplots & i only skipped some parts in the last 2 eps, bec i did not really care for the main couple lol

yeah, in their case you can see the 13 year difference, he looks like a boy & she like a woman (should have cast someone else as lead imo)

so far (i watched until ep 19) i agree, yuan song is so bland & boring (maybe it's the acting? idk)

so far i actually prefer he fanxing with ye luming, they have the better chemistry imo. yuang song seems and looks like such a child sometimes idk.
however my fav parts are the scenes between cong xiao and chang huan, they are super cute & i kinda wish that they were the main characters lol

i can totally see it ending like that & i'd not be mad about it tbh

idt that he is that terrible, but he ain't as amazig as some commets here make him out to be and the fl is way better than the comments paint her imo (but what else is new?).
