Trying this out before I decide to give up on the zombie genre (I HATED All of Us Are Dead). I like it so far although I’m bitter that the gorgeous woman I instantly got super attached to died first. Because of course she did. Just my luck
I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like the sexual assault part of the plotline was so poorly handled. I like when kdramas tackle things like this because I think more awareness should be brought to it, but Jungsuk got over it SO quickly and it was never mentioned again. If you’re going to add something like that to the plot then I think it should have more of an effect on the overall story
I actually made several arguments and although I didn’t want to provide examples because I don’t wish to repeat the things you’ve said in your other comments, I can do so if you would like… I also specifically said she’s also equally to blame.
Please be honest, did you read my response at all? If you don’t wish to actually listen to what I have to say, then I implore you to let me know, and I’ll stop replying so we don’t continue wasting both of our time.
My intention is not to attack or silence you, so please calm down. However, your replies are objectifying and they are filled with misogynistic wording and rhetoric. You are repeatedly using needlessly graphic language to describe Hyunjin’s affair and putting emphasis and blame solely on her, when the man was the one who kissed her first without her consent. Someone who knowingly goes after a married person should be blamed just as equally as the married person who doesn’t reject others’ advances. The way you continue to describe the event is sexually demeaning and unnecessary. The "reverse the roles" argument is also one that is, in fact, rooted in misogyny; as is taking all the blame off the man and putting it on the woman.
I don’t intend nor want to have a full blown discussion about the morals or ethics of Hyunjin’s actions, especially since I acknowledge that I cannot remain unbiased on the subject. She’s one of my favourite characters and I vehemently dislike her husband so I don’t really care about him getting cheated on. I’m not the person to debate with about that. However, I do think you should reframe the way you talk about women in sexual contexts, as it is harmful.
I have no interest in conversing with someone who won’t write their own replies. If I’m not worth enough of your time to write your own response to me, you aren’t worth mine either.
Your replies are completely unrelated to the comments you’re responding to and come off as incredibly objectifying and misogynistic in general. Your original comment on the matter said more than enough. Please stop
I stopped watching this after episode 9 or so because it was just miserable. I think it’s a wonderful drama, I love the cast and OST (I am a massive fan of Kim Yeji), and it’s quite well written. But sometimes I just felt like the writer hated the women characters, especially Rayoung. I understand it’s supposed to tackle a difficult subject and spread awareness, but it is still a FICTIONAL story. It’s a TV show. You can convey the same message and also give a satisfying conclusion, and while I didn’t finish it, I don’t see how things can get any better within the 2 or 3 episodes I have left to watch. As You Stood By is a really good example of a drama that spreads awareness about a horrific reality and punctuates the message well while still having a happy ending. I cried so much at this drama because it caused me actual distress. Yoojeong was my baby and her death gutted me to the point where I still cry if I think about her. I miss my girls but I don’t even know if finishing this show is worth it.
