the bowl of noodles scene is one of my favorites. the expressions conveyed in his eyes, so much emotions without saying a single word.

To all the people exclaiming ‘There’s not enough Xu Kai in this drama!’:

I’m glad that Xu Kai is proving himself through more serious mature dramas. Dont get me wrong, I love his playful romance dramas too, but here he is proving himself as a serious actor, not only doing idol roles but also being able to have a family relationship centered drama in his portfolio. His acting and expressions in the sad scenes (grandma and father scenes, no spoilers but you know what I mean), is wonderful. I’m appreciating Xu Kai as an actor even more through this drama. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fall in Love is good too! lighthearted and funny!

After being thoroughly unsatisfied with the drama, I decided to read the novel. 10/10 novel, everything made so much more sense compared to the drama. The best part is there is much more romance 🙈

There’s a good English translation by sonrisatnt, highly recommend this read if you are disappointed with the drama and are looking for answers with regards to the WTF moments in the second half of the drama.
