Too Choppy

Firstly, I would like to point out is that although this movie and the chinese series Scarlet Heart have characters in common, these 2 are different as night and day and there are no linkage between the movie and the series. Although both the movie and the series involved time travel from present time to the past, the stories of both of them are as different as night and day. There is no indication that the story of the movie is the same as the series either.

I have not seen any of the actors for this series. I would say there is alot of "choppy" areas and unclear sections and alot of loop holes. The Female Lead has a nice quirky temperament. Both Male Leads are not that bad, acting wise. 4th Prince is cold and calculative - as expected. I quite like the temperament of the 14th Prince and how considerate he is with the Female Lead. I can't really explain the story much as I find it jumping from one thing to another without any linkage to anything. I actually watched the movie because of the similarities of the characters, unfortunately was disappointed.

The music, however, was quite nicely paired.

Definitely loads of drama

I was first intrigued by the series because of Diliraba. The series is actually quite interesting, filled with "action pack", drama and plot twists. Although I would say 39 episodes of all this is slightly tiring and they could have reduced it to lesser amounts of episodes, I would still say that this series is worth the watch if you read and loved the synopsis provided. If it is re-watchable, I guess it would depend on individual opinion on how they feel about the series. For me, personally, one time watching all 39 episodes is enough. Too much draggy moments tied with all the dramas.

The Male Lead and Female Lead somehow don't really look good together but they do have their quirky and unique moments in the series. I feel that the Male Lead - Gong Jun - is abit too stiff and expresionless, the Female Lead - Diliraba - did her best for this series, although there are far better series that she has acted in. Liu Yu Ning's acting here is very limited and for a Main Lead, I feel is pretty crappy and stiff acting. They should have added some more "action" on to Yu Ning's character to make it more interesting. But overall, everyone did do a good job breathing life into this series.

The music paired to this series is absolutely fantastic. I love the music, all of it.

Quite a disappointment

I actually watched this series because of Jasper Liu. My first series of his was the Use For My Talent series with Shen Yue. I find his acting style interesting and nice to watch. So when I saw this I was curious, and even curious when it was only 6 episodes long. Unfortunately, I have to write that this series is rather a disappointment. Too little episodes for the series and ending with a Cliff hanger and no news about a 2nd season whatsoever. I don't know why but the series seemed quite rushed and lack of interest when being made.

There are also quite numerous loopholes around the 6 episodes shown. Loopholes that just cannot be defined. Overall, if you read the synopsis and found the series interesting via the synopsis, I would recommend a first watch. But other than that, I don't recommend the re-watch. I was thoroughly put out and disappointed at how the series ended.

Star crossed lovers mini drama

Another short drama - approximately 10 mins per episode instead of the usual 40 mins long episode. This series is short, bittersweet and refreshing for a short binge. The story line is quite interesting and yet sad at the same time - a pair of star crossed lovers that crosses the frame of time, time traveling and attempt to change the fate or line of history. It is worth a first watch if you do like the synopsis of the series, which was what attracted me to the series in the first place.

The casts, though most of them are quite new to me except for the Male Lead, Yan Zi Xian, whom I have watch a couple of series of, did quite a remarkable job of breathing life into this series. They portrayed their roles beautifully and deserve all the praise. The Male and Female lead are quite good together, I personally prefer the portray of the 28 year old Yan Zi Xian in the series (he definitely looks better in that style ;) ) and I find their interaction good with each other.

There wasn't many music in the series, but whatever that was broadcasted with the series was quite nice.

All in all, it is a good first watch for something short and simple - with an open ending - mini series. You would need to decide personally if it is worth the re-watch.

From soft nice guy to deadly person

This movie is definitely a must watch because it covers certain gaps of the Untamed series. It also greatly explains why someone with a loving soft nature like Nie HuaiSang became someone who is so great in planning, cruelty and hell bent on revenge and was the person who brought Jin GuangYao to his downfall in The Untamed series. Amongst so many of the clans in the Untamed series, I would say the Nie Clan was - in my own personal opinion - the only one that wasn't into this power struggle.

Other than filling an immensely big gap of understanding, this movie is also showing the difference and explaining the difference of the Nie Clan that uses Knives instead of real swords like the other clans. It also explains a little of the Clan's history, for those who are interested in knowing. But, to me, this is an eye opener to a number of questions I had after watching The Untamed. I would say it would definitely be a great watch, for a first time and also a re-watch if you are interested after that.

I love the song that was for the Nie brothers. Absolutely beautiful.

Very interesting for a first watch

The movie is quite interesting, storyline wise - I would say it is alright. I would not say it is the best story line but one that makes me question how can the "dad" in the movie try teach the kid a lesson that way?! I would definitely agree that it is like 100% the father's fault. You just do not leave your child alone in an unknown place just to "teach" the child! Donnie Yen definitely did a remarkable job portraying his role very well. The ending of the movie, definitely not expected, was a very sad ending.

There isn't much music noticed when watching the show. There are definitely on the toes moments and it keeps you wondering if the boy will be found in the end. But nonetheless, the movie is a great first time watch, however - for me personally - I would not go for a re-watch , no matter how much I love Donnie Yen's movies.

I would feel sad and sorry for any child or person who get lost in the wilderness, however, in this movie.... I would just say the fault of the parent. Bad parenting. Not the right way of teaching your kid - no matter how angry the kid made you.

There is alot of "Too Much"

This is purely my own personal opinion of the series :
I was attracted to the series because of the synopsis followed by Diliraba and Huang Jing Yu along with some other actors and actresses I have watched from other dramas. But after, with alot of effort, finishing this series completely, I would have to say that this series, despite having a good storyline, is TOO long winded, TOO much insanity and much unnecessary drama and TOO much "side shows". Yes, the casts - I would say - did do a good job in portraying their characters individually, including the 5 main casts. But I really feel it is so much a waste of time with this 45 episodes.

I actually skipped quite alot of parts, especially when those insanity dramas starts piling up. I especially hated Zhou Fang (Diliraba's character)'s mother from beginning till almost the last 5 to 10 episodes where she mellowed down. I feel that there is seriously too much unnecessary drama for alot of the characters and that it is quite poor planning / story line writing. It would make an ok or good first watch, if you have read and liked what you read in the synopsis, but I don't think I will bring myself to go rewatch 45 episodes of alot of utter horror.

The only good part of the series is, I love their music pairing and the 2 main couple pairs are adorable. That is about the only thing I like of the series.

Feels slightly long winded

The series is actually cute, funny and nice. Though - in my personal opinion - feels slightly long winded with abit tad too much of "drama" all around. Too much turning around and tantrums. The story line is actually quite interesting, the female lead and male lead make a cute couple together - one cheeky and "street smart" and the other smart, rich but a slight emotional block. The other casts also did a good job of bringing this series to life. It is just tad long winded for me. But I really love watching the main couple scenes and how they do fall in love over time.

Re-watching it is definitely not for me. I did enjoy the series, but it will not bring me to re-watch as I really find it long winded.

The music is also beautifully paired in this series. Loved most of the songs.

Definitely a no no

I love my shark shows, been watching alot of them in English. So I was actually quite excited when I found this show, unfortunately was greatly disappointed. I know, the sharks mostly are CGIs or if ever mechanical in majority of the shark movies, however, the shark in this movie... is omg totally disappointing and looks more like a big rubber shark. There isn't really much of a storyline for this movie - this is my very personal opinion - but mostly nom nom nom of the shark.

From my personal opinion, I wouldn't recommend this movie. Unless if you love what you read in the synopsis of the movie. I definitely would not do a re-watch of this movie either. The cast, they did an alright job. Personally, I don't really see much "acting" but the casts involve did their best. I just feel the storyline did not bring it any justice.

Should have made it better

You can either take the series as it is, and you would probably find that the series is an alright series. Or you are the kind that wonders about many things and then this series has alot of holes. For me, personally, I think that there is alot of unanswered parts / questions in this series. The starting was fine, but unlike many series where the modern day person travels back in time, this series DOES NOT show or indicate from where and which era this modern person is from nor how did this person just happened to fall into this ancient era and into this body of Feng Wu (the female lead). On a generic overall scale, I would say the casts did a good job bringing their individual characters to life. But, storyline wise, not very happy. Too many gaps / holes, confusion etc. Even the ending is kinda "hanging".

Personally, re-watch value, I wouldn't bother re-watching this series. Even though there are various actors / actresses I know and kinda like in this cast, I cannot bring myself to go through all this confusion and gaps again. Oh, the cast list has a mistake. Li Chuan's character name is Mu Jiu Zhou and not what has been written by the editors of this site. I have submitted an edit, but so far no reaction. Please do update to not confuse / mislead people. Thanks

Majority of the music paired to this series is very nice to listen to. Downloaded a few of them myself to keep in my playlist.

Uhmmmm..... what?

Basically, if you have never watched the series Eternal Love, you might enjoy this movie abit more. As for me, I watched the Eternal Love series first, then read the book and few years later only hunted down this movie. I would say that this movie is not good at all. It is like they are trying to put bits and bits of puzzles of the series together to make a movie starting from after the death of the mortal Su Su. The puzzles they are piecing together are quite choppy and, in certain areas, nonsensical.

I was actually quite amazed with the cuteness of the movie at the beginning, especially with all the woodland creatures etc in Qing Qiu. That was indeed a nice way of portraying it. However, as the movie continues on, I literally skipped on many scenes to fast forward the movie. The ending is also........MEH...

All in all, I would recommend a first watch of this movie if you have not read the book or even watched the series Eternal Love. At least the disappointment ain't that great and your opinion of it would probably differ from me or anyone else that has watched the others first.

Did not really hear all the music for this movie. I only have one song that was a duet by Yang Yang and a lady (sorry, forgotten her name) which I like.

Very short series

If you are looking for just a short - extremely short series - without much drama etc, then this would be it. 24 episodes. each about 10 mins long. Overall, this short mini series is ok for watching for the first time, though me personally, I would not be doing any re-watching. The story is simple. All the characters / casts performed wonderfully, despite me not really liking the show. There are many funny scenes - I especially love the way how the Female Lead goes on a disappearing act on the Male lead all the time. I only wished that the ending was better.

Interesting but not very good

The lesson behind the movie is actually quite meaningful. Teaching you to love yourself and also to appreciate everything you have - from the biggest to the tiniest details of life. However, the movie is just not great. I am sure all the actors and actresses did a great job and hard work bringing this movie to life, however, it still did not really bring the entire movie to life. There are various gaps here and there. The little touch of Alice in the Wonderland is also quite interesting, but not good. The song written by the male lead in the movie is very nice though. Really love that song.

Darren Chen as bad boy in this movie, so not nice lol. On the contrary, quite the turn off for me.

Rewatch value, for me personally... I won't go for a 2nd. Was a nice to watch the first time, that is about it.

Prepare yourself for the water tap and make sure you have tissues!

A story about life. This is not your ordinary drama, but touches more about Life and situations people will face. It is a very beautiful but sad drama with some cute adorable moments along with some humor. It is a beautiful story of watching two people getting to know each other, fall in love and work things out throughout life's challenges. Until the biggest challenge hits, a terminal illness. In this series, there are many life lessons and moments you can learn from. Many of the advises and scenarios are very valuable to learn. The series is also a rather tragic show, alot of waterworks - so make sure you prepare alot of tissues before watching.

Both the male lead and female lead are quite adorable together and I feel like they really did an extremely good job portraying their characters. The entire casts also did an extremely good job bringing this series to life. The songs paired to this series are also quite nice and I love them.

Action packed movie

Plus point that surpasses many factors.... It's a Jackie Chan movie!! It's filled with action packed with a mixture of comedy (like all Jackie Chan movies). The additional parts would be that Yang Yang and a few other named people are within.

Overall, I find this movie great and also funny at certain moments, filled with action and especially love movies that have a mixture of variety of languages within - along with the English subtitles for better understanding of the other languages. Personally, I feel that we should have more of these mixture of variety of languages and places in a movie. It was feeling quite strange - for me - to hear Jackie Chan conversing in Mandarin though as I have always only watched all of his movies in Cantonese. But still enjoyed the movie nonetheless. The entire casts also did a good job bringing the movie to life. It definitely is something I would watch again, but only because I really enjoyed the movie. There were various reviews commenting about CGIs in the movie, but oh come on.... CGIs have LONG EXISTED in many other movies, so why the heck are you complaining and whining about some CGI hyenas / animals?! Better a CGI of an animal than having a real animal and then some wanky animal activists wailing about animal abuse just for entertainment purposes!
