This may be a low budget drama but it is brilliant. As in all historical dramas, I found some of the issues hard to understand, who's at war and why, but I could ignore that for the great writing of the lead female character. Love her and I want all time travels historicals to have gender swaps from now on if it means we get characters this interesting.

Does it have a happy end? (pls answer in spoiler)
If it ends the same way as the very famous book it is based on "flowers for Algernon" does then no it does not. It has a very sad ending.

This is a Chinese web series, so knowing that you expect it to look awful, have horribly dubbed voices, and to be highly unoriginal. Therefore in many ways, the series achieved what I expected of it.

The premise of the show comes from Diabolic Lovers, the japanese otome game where one annoying girl gets abused repeatedly by a bunch of d-bag vampires. I don't think this series is an official adaptation but that doesn't change the fact that this series is still very obviously an adaptation of those games. While I can see why the short and predictableness of the game's anime series would have appealed to a company looking to make a web drama, it should be widely known by now that nothing based off an otome game is ever good. Apparently, the subbers came to the same conclusion and dropped the series before the end. Good on them.
