I was enjoying it so much, but when he slapped her on episode 6, that was it for me. HUGE DEAL BREAKER. There's…
Ngl that got me upset too. But then I reconsidered the era (the social gap between men and women then and there) and the characters' statuses. Yeah, slap is not THAT shocking. It's actually more realistic for historical dramas than ones where men go around rolling over for their women because of infatuation/love.
During this era and with their culture, men throwing hands as punishment or whatever, even at their spouse, is actually very very realistic. For even with their love for eachother, culture raised them with such belief- that men should be respected and women should respect men, first of all. Not to mention between nobles/royalties where other than genders, their blood statuses are a BIG thing.
And I happen to like realistic story more than happy-dreamy ones.
(Not that I condone such things. If my boyfriend ever slapped me I'd jab my heels on his d*ck, no offense)
That's my opinion.

Dropped it after half... the romance was unnacessary tbh. Would've been better if it focused on all 3 of them- their dynamic looked great. But then production decided to put Jiang Shuo and Mu Qing on cliche romantic scenes and typical dramas and I just- hhhhhhhhhhh

Such a shame. I was actually quite invested with the plot and fun friendship between Jiang Shuo and Qin Er.
